Look in your start menu/all programs/Webplugin You should be able to uninstall it there.
Thanks Looney, I've never noticed that before :D
Long story short, I gave up on the firmware. Besides not being able to view the stream when connected to the camera via any browser, the date/time wouldn't stick. Not sure what the new firmware improved anyway.

is there a more current firmware for the ultra series (IPC-HDBW8232E specifically) that does not require a plugin?

I installed DH_IPC-HX8XXX-Nova_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.640.0000004.0.R.190118.zip

camera reports as
2.640.0000004.0.R, Build Date: 2019-01-18
IPC-HFW8232E-Z

now it says I need to enable adobe flash.

I upgraded my 5231s to the 2019-01 firmware and didn't see issue, they all worked as expected without any plugin ..etc.

the good news is the SD storage appears to be working again, I can format it ..etc and that works. which is better than the 2017 firmware was doing. will bake this for a few days and see how it goes.

Hi Andy, any specific reason for excluding the HDBW8331E-Z in the list of supported models of this firmwares? If the HFW8331E-Z is supported one would assume that the dome version is, too..

(I tried it and it says the file is incompatible. The previous fw I uploaded had "eos" in its name and the build date is 2018-08-14. However, since then the image judders and I would like to fix this... What is the latest fw for the hdbw8331E-Z?)

Edit: Installed both the 2019 and the 2018 on a HDBW81230E-Z (not ZE!). With both versions,
- the image is much too dark if backlight compensation is off, and
- more importantly: Day/night switch-over is broken. The camera does not automatically switch between b/w+ir and color anymore. It stays in color mode the entire night, and forcing it to b/w leaves it in b/w-mode the entire day (despite the "Auto" setting).

Back to 2.600.0000.14.R, Build Date: 2017-08-30, both works - but that version has a bug with email time zones (it does not respect DST - which works fine in the 2018 and 2019 versions).

This is all on the HDBW81230E-Z only. The same FW works fine on a 8331E-ZE.

Perhaps you could take that info back to Dahua....?

Edit 2: Sorry for the noise. Resetting the cam to factory defaults fixed the problems on the HDBE81230. Leaving this here in case others run into the same problem.
Edit 3: The list seems to be wrong. The files are not installable on my HFW8331E-Z. It needs the "eos" fw, not the "nova" one.

Trying to get a version that works with out a plug-in or Adobe Flash. The version posted at the beginning of this thread was newer than the version 1.622.0000001.16.R Build Date 2017-12-15 that was on my IPC-HDBW81230E camera but still requires Adobe Flash. My other IPC-HX5X3X cameras have been updated successfully.

I went to which lists four downloads for IPC-HX8XXX camera on the first page. Two are for Nova2 and two are for Rhea versions. Both come with NP and PN versions. No idea what the differences are. All are shown as updated 2019-08-02. When downloaded they are zip files instead of the bin files that have worked for me in the past. When I expand the zip files it produces some 28 files, one of which looks like the bin files I have used. But all four versions produce a file unmatch error. Why the zip file and all the extranious files?

Any idea where to get the correct bin file for my IPC-HDBW81230E camera that does not require any plug-ins?

@EMPIRETECANDY can you reach out to Dahua and ask them when a update for the ultras (DH_IPC-HX8XX) might be coming.

looking to close any security issues like those in the 5231 area recently , as well as an update for the ultra that removes the flash plugin need. ..etc

I know we keep asking every so often, but "we" (or maybe just me) are really looking for a firmware update for these , at one time, higher end cameras.

thanks in advance.

Is this the latest version that doesn't need a browser plugin?

I just upgraded, and it still appears to want the adobe plugin.

@EMPIRETECANDY I got excited thinking the
2.640.0000006.0.R, Build Date: 2019-06-27 version wouldn't need the plugin. so I guess my request still stands; asking Dahua if this is ever going to an update that is flash free.

Presume you loaded the 32MB bin file only (HFW8630 in my case)?
