I want BI to automatically start after bootup. I have it set to run as a service in the settings and I have a shortcut to BI added to the windows startup folder. Still it doesn't start after boot.
What am I missing?

You don't need BI in the startup folder. Enabling "run as a service" is the only requirement to enable BI to start on bootup.

Which username and password did you provide as BI credentials?

Typically the same account that was used to install BI is supplied as the credentials. You can modify the account information used by opening the Services tab and clicking on the Blue Iris entry.

Settings for the entry should be autostart, and if successful the service be "running".

I believe what op is trying to accomplish is to not only start the service but also the UI.
This is an old thread but still applicable to w10/11.

When starting as a service BI is running in the background, recording, saving alerts and everything so you are covered. Like fenderman said, it is not showing the UI. Once you load from the desktiop icon you will see that everything that was captured since the pc was powered on will be there.
