Hi,

Using BI 4 with around 20 3mp IP cameras (10 on site) 10 at a remote location.

I have internet speeds of 400Mbps/45Mbps

I have included a snapshot of resource usage as BI is going full throttle.

My issue is that wi fi connected smartphones and tablets on the same network suffer greatly while BI is going.

PC hosting BI is a top of the line octacore extreme with 32gb ram and ssd recording.

Network is gigabit throughout.

Please look at attached photo and any advice appreciated

Jeff

What is the frame rate, and other camera settings of the remote cameras?
Are any of the local cameras wifi , are they all hardwired?
What does a wifi analyzer show, both 2.4 and 5.0, traffic and interference?
All your new smart device should be on 5.0 GHz.
How are the remote cameras connected to the local network ?

is your BI pc connected to the router or the same switch as your cams.

Any camera traffic on wifi could result in drastically reduced wifi performance. All it takes is one operating its wifi radio at a low modulation rate and it could be using up most of your airtime. Also, some routers aren't great at forwarding local traffic through their own wired ports.

How are the 10 remote cameras connected to the network? The physical connection, in detail.
The description you gave by saying IP/port is for a local camera.
Set the frame rate and iframe to between 10 and 15 for all cameras.

Put cameras on a different wireless 2.4 channel. May require an new access point.
