Blue Iris UI3

Blue Iris Groups and Layout not appearing on UI3. The Group dropdown on the Side Bar shows cameras instead of groups. If I go to UI settings and select YES for showing Cameras in group dropdown, the list of cameras will appear twice, but no groups.

What Blue Iris version are you running? I don't have this problem on the latest release (5.9.7.3).

If you are on the latest BI release, please try restarting Blue Iris (if running as a service, use Task Manager > Services tab to restart Blue Iris) and reload the page in the web browser to see if that resolves it. I've seen Blue Iris go into a bad state before regarding web server sessions and restarting it should solve it if that has occurred.

I was and still am on release 5.9.7.3 for now since the latest (5.9.7.4) refuses to install as of this writing. Restarting Blue Iris and reloading the page on both Edge and Chrome doesn't do much.Screenshot 2024-09-11 184209.png

Your group webcasting stream might be disabled. Near the top of Blue Iris's local console, look for the dropdown list of camera groups. Choose "All cameras" if it isn't already, and click the gear icon next to it. You need "Enable group webcast stream" to be enabled.

AH YES. Now I remember unchecking it a while back because I didn't like how the Android app looked with Groups, then completely forgot about it.
As of a couple days ago, I've been using Pushover for notifications with UI3 as the streaming link. The combo has been working great with clean, smooth playbacks but the groups issue (created by Moi) was starting to bother me until now, Thank you!

When there's a new Alert after the UI3 window is opened, UI3 now adds the memo correctly to the new Alerts, but it doesn't update their thumbnails and mouseover Alert images. :( (With the new "zoom into detected object" and the usual "mark up my images with the AI results" settings, this makes a big impact.) They only show up after a manual refresh of the page

Is there a way to list the triggered zone in the alert list in UI3 similar to how it is in the BlueIris interface and mobile apps? I looked but couldn't find an option to do this.

@morrisky Can you share some screenshots of how you want that to look? The data is available in UI3. There just isn't really any room in the layout for more stuff to be shown.

Yeah I would put it just under the Camera name for example with alerts in the smaller form, it could look like this:

There is a little bit of extra space above the time so it could all be shifted up slightly as well to make it look better.

MSFT did updates to my Win10 BI server today. Now BI web, and the iPhone/iPad apps no longer connect. Anyone else run into this issue?

What's interesting is using BI web on the server works fine. BI Web via any other machine, nada. BI app on the iPhone/iPad connected to the same network, nada.

Dammit - nevermind. Norton 360 unilaterally decided to shutdown IIS connections. :wtf:

Also what happens many times is a Windows update changes your BI server's LAN properties from private to public. Simply change it back to private and all is good in the world.

Yep, that's exactly what happened - it changed the LAN settings. Precisely why, many times, I despise performing MSFT and/or Norton patches.

I use Windows Server 2012 R2 for my BI server. MS leaves it alone so God's in his Heaven and all is right with the world. :)

Any luck on updating the alert images for new alerts?
No, but I've created an issue for this in the github repository. I don't use AI on any of my Blue Iris systems so it is very cumbersome for me to test anything I do related to it.

H! I started a Convert/Export of 4 time-lapsed 2 hr clips from one of my cameras, and while the first one finished processing and downloaded on my laptop while UI3 was open, the other 3 finished while I was NOT connected to the BI server box (5.9.9.10).

When I next connected via UI3 and saw all 4 clips in the Clipboard, which looks like it has replaced the old Convert/Export queue:

I could not download any of them, even the one I'd successfully downloaded originally. Clicking on any of the 4 resulted in Server is unavailable:

I even tried via Edge on the BI server box itself, pointing back at its own IP address, and got the same error.

It does not appear to be correlated with the time lapse function, because I just did it again with a regular Convert/Export with no re-encoding, and I get the same error if I try to download it from the Clipboard.

I was able to manually retrieve the clips from V:\BlueIris\New\Clipboard\ on the BI box, via filesharing, but I'm curious if anyone else has seen a similar problem downloading clips from the UI3 Clipboard.

I haven't seen that happen but I haven't exported anything in a while. Is Blueiris.exe actually crashing when you click on them? If you right click the clips in UI3 you should be able to choose Download clip without having to open it the normal way at all and that would have a much higher chance of working because Blue Iris will just send you the file without decoding it.
