Blue Iris - Version 4.3.7

Blue Iris support just responded ....
-----------------
" There is an update coming to address the issue with Nest/Dropcams.
Your patience is appreciated."

Thank you,
Jennifer

I just rcvd the same reply from Jennifer at BI...

FYI: Just Upgraded to 4.4.9.7 X64 release this morning an my Nest Cams are back online.

BI has prompted me for an 4.4.9.8 update.. wonder if its safe to update now.

in lieu of the recent update snafu? how do you guys update? do you download the full install file from the BI website? wouldn't this mean de-activating your current BI version i.e. 4.4.2.0

or the usual way where you just update from your current version and then pray it works and if all goes SOUTH again, de-activate, un-install then install STABLE BI version i.e. 4.4.2.0 and activate again?

just prepping for my contingency plan just in case i jump the gun and do an update.

thanks.

Set a restore point. Then update. If you don't like it, roll back. I can't for the life of me understand why BI doesn't set a restore point automagically during the update process. Given the problems that can occur while updating it seems like a no-brainer to me. It never hurts to dload a full install package before every update and maintain your own back-version library though.

You dont have to deactivate anything...simply download the update file not the full installer from the website...now you will have it in the future to rollback to. If everything is working fine, wait for the release to be out a few days before updating.

if i remember it right, when i allow an update, BI updates and installs the update by itself and does not prompt me to save the update to a location..
