Hi everybody!

I am building my new house and it is time to tell the electrician where the cameras for the CCTV system are going to be placed. Using the attached renders, can you tell me what would be the ideal position for the cameras, marking it on the images?

Thanks in advance!

I think you need a single camera at the bottom of that pool.

but really, you have to give us more than 'i want camera. where?'
1.) how much willing to spend? what is budget?
2.) what are your concerned areas & areas of interest?
3.) what camera models?
4.) Spain...hmm....I'm for hire to install the wiring! Per diem of course.

Sorry for the late response!

1) No budget limit.
2) Concerned areas are all the house possible entries (doors and windows).
3) I love Hikvision, so preferably any of their portfolio.
4) ;)

Thanks in advance!

I prefer Dahua menus on their software when trying to adjust the cameras settings. Dahua also allows more control of the camera in my opinion. For that reason I have only purchased Dahua for the last year.

If taking security seriously, then cameras should cross reference each other. Too easy to take out a camera and not record what happens next. So you might consider having cameras covering other cameras in their field of view. This greatly complicates a thief's progress.

Again along that same line of thinking, prefer bullets over turrets. Just the presence of cameras can be a big deterrent.

Will you leverage AI? I can't imagine a system "with no budget" not being full AI integrated.

If I had "no budget" I would install spotter cameras everywhere along with the needed supporting PTZ cameras. But you are in many, many thousands of dollars there, so not sure what "no budget" means.

Seems like in post #3 you listed out where you want the cameras to be, so not sure what you are seeking?

Also, you say CCTV. Do you mean POE?

hi @schummym3

cliff notes has some ideas of positions ...

Recommend you post positions you think would be useful and ask for feed back.
( can put blue / red dots on your pictures for location ideas )

Also, 3D drawings may not be as ideal as floor plans for determining placement.

I have cameras mounted no higher than 8 ft.
Each door has an outside camera mounted pointing at the door.
Each outside door inside has a camera mounted pointing at he door.
The package drop area has a camera pointed down at it.
The garage has a camera inside pointing at the garage door.
The garage has a camera pointed at the house entry door.
The garage has two cameras mounted outside on either side of the door pointing down the driveway, mount no higher than the top of the door
