Isn't that how you got into the hole in the first place?Should I start from scratch and reset the box back to factory default and start over?
No. I messed things up by pressing a button in iVMS 4200. It was something to do with restore. A couple of my cameras kept going off. With hindsight it was probably just a dodgy connection on the cat cable. However, I stupidly messed around with the settings and it obviously upset the box, which is why all the cameras went down. In theory, I should be able to start from scratch by setting it back to factory defaults and setting the box like it had just been taken out of the box. However, it seems that even though I am using the factory default setting. It's not setting it back to how it was when I first set it up. Normally, you would plug the camera and then it would work straight away. That wasn't happening. Before I plugged any cameras into the NVR should I make sure that each channel is on plug and play? Or should I leave it on manual?Isn't that how you got into the hole in the first place?
That works when the NVR PoE channel is set to Plug&Play - and the camera is in the 'Inactive' state which it enters after it has been reset to default settings.Normally, you would plug the camera and then it would work straight away.
I think the best thing I can do is get the box, all plugged in tomorrow and then seek advice on the settings. I can take some snaps of the screen. I hope someone will be aroundThat works when the NVR PoE channel is set to Plug&Play - and the camera is in the 'Inactive' state which it enters after it has been reset to default settings.
This is the usual 'out of the box' scenario.
There is another scenario - but I don't want to complicate things.
I am wondering. Is it possible to deactivate my cameras and put them back to the original "out of the box" state? That works when the NVR PoE channel is set to Plug&Play - and the camera is in the 'Inactive' state which it enters after it has been reset to default settings.

Excellent!! I shall try it with one camera just to begin with. If it works, then I will attempt to do it with all of the cameras. Wish me luckYes, that should work ok. Default all settings.
You can confirm if SADP then shows the camera as 'Inactive'
Glad to here this, if you are happy with the footage of existing, all is wonderful, why waste more money. Trust me, been down that corridor, it's a quick way to a empty bank balanceOkay, we are finally getting there. I sat one camera back to default, plugged it back into the NVR, making sure it was on plug and play, and it is now working. So now I know it's definitely the cameras that need to be put back to default. I'm so happy I came so close to chucking This lot in the bucket and buying the whole no system
And I would have made you an offer and flogged the lot on eBay for a profit lol!I came so close to chucking This lot in the bucket and buying the whole no system
