I think it's auto gain, but it also has a smart IR. Either way it worked well since my porch cam washes out with people with blonde hair. She's in bed now or I would disable one at a time to see which it is.

Yes the loss of focus, not sure why but I left it as is.

If it wasn't for all this rain I would temp mount it on my fence and catch some traffic.

One thing I've noticed the cam has some difficulty right at twilight focusing.

Daytime focus is flawless.

Nighttime focus is good but more sensitive. As I said before if I have my fence in the frame it will focus on it as apposed to what's beyond.

A few pics of the DWDR on and off at night

Haha. Must mean the transparent mask for the motion detection grid?

probably a typo for 'scope', which is what they seem to call the motion-detection area...

I mounted it up higher on the back of my house so I could test the other speed dome side by side. I'll post some more pics and vids soon.

As far as the out of focus issue on the edge, it's not always like that, if things are close to being the same depth of the field of view it settles in well on auto focus. I know other cameras don't always experience this problem, I don't think it's a deal breaker but it is something to note.

Tech help did not have a solution for it.

Here is a good Low Light picture, comparison is to the 400
2016-05-16_21-28-38 LL.png200 The glare is from the porch light which is directly above the cam

@stoney7713 - Could you post a pic of this camera where you have it mounted? I'd like to get a feel for size scale vs. the out-of-box pic you posted at beginning of the thread. Thanks!

It's just temporarily mounted for now, but I will take another picture in the morning. It's almost 6 inches wide and sticks out about 8 inches. Compared to the Huisun that sticks out about 10 inches, it would have an overall smaller footprint.

Do you have any pics with the IR on.
How do these cameras compare noise wise? I am thinking about replacing a 27X beast that is on the side of my house we can hear inside. At $107 plus shipping that little camera is very tempting just to play with.

Post #10 has night pics with IR
Post #19 has a short video of someone walking in front of the camera

If you want some more I can post them, still haven't got the camera mounted in it's permanent location.
