CN Cameras (DS-2CD3935) w/ EN NVR (DS-7608NI-I2)

I have a few Chinese firmware cameras (DS-2CD3935FWD-IWS) running what I assume is some kind of weird firmware that I haven't been able to find a CN version anywhere beside the provider (V5.4.5_170218).
I then have an English firmware NVR (DS-7608NI-I2).

These cameras work via RTSP however I would rather use just standard PnP with them, of course this results in a language mismatch. Is there any possible way of getting these to work together? I have tried reflashing just about every 'potential' firmware I can to the camera, and they all seem to brick it aside from the supplier firmware.

I also can't seem to change the supplier firmware language with hiktools due to the value of it.

A CN camera is only going to work with CN firmware, as per Hikvision's design, so even if you do find the right firmware for the model, I don't think that would change anything.

I'm wondering if the firmware for the model is buried in section 02 here somewhere - though there isn't any info about what applies to which : http://www1.hikvision.com/cn/download_more_1659.html#prettyPhoto

There is one firmware there that I 'think' is correct. It can't update through the web interface, but it is the only one I could find that states 'update success' through TFTP. After this update though, it doesn't work anyway.

So no real option getting them working aside from RTSP?

After further attempts at getting this working, I am convinced the only real options are:

1) Get a Chinese firmware NVR to use these cameras with.
2) Try to return these cameras and get English firmware cameras.

Is this accurate?
