is it possible the PAL version might be better? should i try uploading that one? (the September 2018)

Anybody else upgrade to the 180913 firmware and have problems with the web interface becoming unresponsive after about 6-8 hours? I started noticing the problem on the previous version from August, but not as extensive, so I updated when I saw the 180913 available and it got way worse. I finally reverted back to the April 2018 version and it's been solid since then. I did do a full factory reset after installing 180913 including wiping the network settings, it made no difference. Not sure if it's something on my network that may be causing the problem or something built in to that firmware version. I don't have an NVR or anything else communicating with the camera, so that seems unlikely to me but you never know I guess. I don't have the camera on a separate VLAN yet.

Hi ! experienced same thing as you with the 180913 firmware...any chance you have the April 2018 version you could upload or send? Thanks!

I'm also looking for the April firmware for this SD49225T-HN. The latest version has been rebooting about every half hour and it is super annoying.

By searching google for Mao-Rhea I was able to find a couple of sites hosting the April 4th firmware. They didn't include the PTZ module firmware but I found that elsewhere. I zipped both together and attached them to this post.
It is English PAL firmware.

Currently uploading to a camera. Will report back later by updating this post.

It went fine. I uploaded the large firmware image first (it is the main firmware package), then the small PTZ firmware file. Then just to be extra-sure that any buggy crap from the newer firmwares was gone, I did a full factory reset and reconfigured the camera. Only time will tell if this fixes the stability issues. Update 2018-12-06: This firmware seems to be stable.

Download April firmware on Dahua Italy official site Firmwares

Good find. I downloaded that and compared with the one I found and it is 100% identical, byte for byte. That does help confirm no funny business was performed on the firmware image by an unscrupulous third party.

great! gonna give this a shot
....is it a just a small number of people having these similar issues with the newer firmware or is it more widespread??...maybe we should inform Andy about this? or Dahua?

I just received my new SD49225T-HN PTZ from Andy and I'm now bench testing it. 4 day shipping is amazing! So far everything seems good to go on it. No rebooting, no focus problems, no ghosting, no flickering, no pulsing, no throbbing, but I haven't tried any bird-watching with it yet. I'm pretty much using default settings except I changed it to 15fps. In BI I had to use "Dahua New" to get the PTZ to work, which is weird because the ONVIF setting worked in my other Dahua SD1A203T-GN PTZ.

It came with this firmware:
System Version 2.622.0000000.7.R.R4.2510.9A.NR, Build Date: 2018-04-04
WEB Version 3.2.1.563437
ONVIF Version 16.12(V2.4.1.513183)
PTZ Version 3.02.93.RHNZ_170518_22722

I'm planning on installing after turkey day, weather permitting. I'll be getting a little creative with the install to make it a little more subtle and help keep the wife happy and less noticeable to the neighbors. I'll post pics when I'm done so you see what I'm talking about.

To supply power to the bad boy I'm using my trusty year old Netgear GS724TP-200NAS 24-Port Gigabit Ethernet Smart Managed Pro Switch, 190W PoE+. Up to 30W per port. Using Monoprice CAT6 cable.

I am wondering if anyone has had to disassemble this cam to clean off the haze that has built up inside the lens. I went up today to clean off the lens before snow comes and noticed this hazy film is on the inside of the lens. It really affects the picture when the sun shines on lens. I have seen this before on cams and is probably a side effect from the extreme conditions. Not sure if I will get to mine before winter, but if I do I will document the procedure....IF no one else already has. I attached a few pics to show issue.

I finally finished the recessed install of my SD49225T PTZ. It was a lot of work but it's more discrete this way. I mounted it inside the 2nd story window frame above the garage door. The other cam is a Dahua 8MP to keep a wide angle eye on things. It's working great although BI seems to loose PTZ control of the cam once in a while. Then I have to log into the web interface to regain control.

If you have set the PTZ Profile in BI to the "Dahua New" profile, then this could be the problem.

Set it to ONVIF(OXML) and then it works fine. At least that did the trick for my 49225 in BI.

I've mailed with bi support, and he is looking to fix it :)

Nice job, do you have a way to remove it for service?

I'm also having the same issue with "New Dahua" going back to Onvif

Thanks looney. I left the screw heads exposed so if needed I can still remove the wood panels underneath and remove the camera. But the spackling in the the joints will have to be reapplied and repainted afterwards. Probably an hour or two of work. Not ideal so hopefully it will give me many years of trouble free service!

I tried the ONVIF setting a couple of times but I don't get any PTZ response at all. "Dahua New" is the only setting that works for me (not reliably). Maybe my firmware is different than yours.

@SAVideoman ,

I'm using a different firmware indeed. My camera is on the following firmware:

System Version: 2.623.0000000.2.R.R4.2510.9A.NR, Build Date: 2018-09-13
WEB Version: 3.2.1.631181
ONVIF Version: 16.12(V2.4.3.579540)
PTZ Version: 3.02.93.RHNZ_170518_22722

I am using that version and Onvif works fine for me. Be sure you use the find/inspect button and it should set everything for you.
