Well, I don't plan on sticking an SD card in there (what an awkward place to put the SD slot) so the only reason I would have to open it up would be to reset it. Which hopefully I won't have to do.

Yeah mine had crappy Phillips heads too. Tried different Phillip head screwdrivers, but none would stay in the slot.

I need help with my camera I received last Thursday.

It cycles when I plug in the POE+. I cannot log in to the camera via IE that I have.

I downloaded SmartPSS from Dahue and the program sees the camera but does not bring it online.

Please help if you can.

A few things, make sure it is IE you're using not Microsoft Edge, apparently it's a different browser all together. And secondly make double sure you are using POE+, I thought I was, but turns out it was standard POE and the camera sort of worked and took 4 mins before it would respond to pings.

I am using this-TRENDnet Gigabit Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) Injector, TPE-115GI

I was using IE that is with Windows 10. That may be the problem. I will try to download a different IE.

Both of my computers brought up the other cameras with no problem. (Windows 10 and an old XP machine)

I put new Cat6 cables on. Still nothing except cycling when the RJ45 was unplugged/plugged.

I have not opened the camera. The manual says to adjust some settings on the board. Do you have to do the adjustment?

Are your computer and camera on the same network IP? Also I think the Dahua defaults to 192.168.1.108. You may have to make some changes to the IP addresses of your camera/router.

Yes, the camera is 192.168.1.108 with a port of 37777.

I do not know how to change that unless I can log in. I changed the factory addresses of all of my other cameras via IE on the old XP computer.

All cameras are on the same network 192.168.0.XX

Try putting everything on 1 network IP (i.e. 192.168.1.x or 192.168.0.x) They will not see each other if they are on other networks.
 
Hook the new cam directly to your computer....nothing else. Then restart your computer. Now try to connect to the cam in IE using 192.168.1.108 Once you are in camera UI change the IP to your subnet.....like for cam 192.168.0.108 and gateway 192.168.0.1 Make sure one of your current cams is not using 192.168.0.108. My config tool did not work that came with my cam.

I did as you suggested. The XP computer and the camera alone. It did not work.

Just a thought. Linksys Routers use the 192.168.1.1 address. What is your opinion of using a cheap Linksys router to access the camera and change the address
