Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

So, it'd be nice if PFA actually worked as well as in that demo video. It doesn't in my SD59225U-HNI.

Yeah ok, but i bet that the camera in the demo is one of the high tier ultra's, as it also has a extreme zoom. I'm happy with the outcome on my SD49225, because they made the function available on a much cheaper model :D

@Gilean

The Shutdown function is only available at the NVR itself, that means looking at the menu on the LCD screen connected to the NVR :)
Ahh okay thanks! I don't have (or plan to) attached any LCD screens to NVR, I thought people use these devices via Web UI or using local network anyway. Or should I buy a small LCD screen for this NVR? That does not seem wise.

What seems to be the issue? I was actually thinking of possibly getting one like this or at least one similar.

It works, but it is not nearly as fast and smooth as that demo shows. But I suspect that was an Ultra series cam.
Mine works ok in the daylight, but at night it still is slow in focusing. Especcically at the 24 and 25x range. At 25x, at night, it sometimes never comes into complete focus.

Edit: Oops, mine is the SD59225U-HNI, not the one in this thread.

Yeah, I know that turret is not securely attached, I did not drill the holes deep enough for the screws :) But I thought it seems to be secure enough, and it's not that heavy.
I tried to use old WD Velociraptor as HDD as I happened to have one extra, but that has extra cooling shield around it and that makes it a bit too big for those short NVR cables... I guess I have to open up my old HTPC and steal a normal sized HDD from there :)

I feel stupid, but I cannot find Shutdown from web interface :/ I don't use any software, just logged in to NVR's IP address. I did install Smart PSS that came with the NVR but there is no Shutdown either. Both have logout only. What (free) software you people are using to control NVR (and cameras) with Windows? I recall reading about Blue Iris, haven't tried that and don't know if it's free or not. This is what this default "WEB Service" looks like:

You really need to use a WD Purple drive in that NVR.

Hi All. Do these Starlights work well at night in a well lit area without IR switched on? The reason I ask is because I want to use this through a window and I understand that IR does not work through a window? So I'm wondering if it will be bright enough at night. Thanks.

I am debating between the 59225 and this camera. I can't find anywhere for sure if it has audio built in. It appears it does not but need to make sure. Have since found out that it does not.

You won't find a PTZ with built-in audio. But, these cams do have audio capability's. You just have to add a microphone.
Read the specs on the Dahua International web site, and they tell you all you need to know.

I purchased this model (my first ipcam) tru amazon , 304 euro with shipping , there was one with refurbished packaging for only 230 euro but i waited 2 long , it arrives tomorrow

Not this level of a PTZ anyways. The small SD1A203T starlight PTZ cameras do have mics built in.... Tiny little things with just a 3X optical zoom though. I bought a couple from Andy and they are great little setups. Now I'm looking for something with a longer zoom so here I am in this thread. :)

its a great camera for the price
been thinking about moving them into the back yard and upgrading to newer ones in the front yard
