Dahua 2MP Starlight Lineup

if I were to live in the US, I would be buying too many cams now...
You're right on with that. I'm starting to have a problem keeping all the spares hidden from my wife.

Is there any way to find out the sensor model of this PTZ85448-HNF-PA camera? I asked Andy, but he told me that the Dahua company doesn't usually give out this information.

Yes, it is quite easy actually.

Buy the cam and open it up and see what the sensor looks like. It probably has the info on it. If not, take a picture of it and do a Google image search.

He probably wants to know before he buys it!???!
I have the camera at home, but I don't want to open it just to find out the sensor model. It was mostly in case there was some kind of list indicating the sensor, but well, it's dispensable. Thank you.

Hello,
I have some tapo 320 and 325 cams.
I'm very happy with 325 model for color night vision.
As I have now a dahua doorbell with VTH screen, I would like to switch to Dahua cams to see everything on my Dahua screen.
For those who where able to test tapo 325, is there any comparable Dahua cam ?
around 100$
Thanks a lot

These are superb reviews! I have systems at several locations and wanted a License Plate Camera at one. I was sold one but it was poorly installed, with horrible results.

I have decided to change it for something else. Without LIGHTING, CLOSE PROXIMITY, Etc. reading plates is not a solution and provides data only usable by the authorities.

I am attaching a photo of the area I would like to monitor. Currently I have an Auto Tracking Dahua PTZ on a home that works very well but six years old so a newer camera is in order in both places.

The NVR in use is the Dahua NVR4208-8P-4KS and it runs (three) cameras well. I am not sure if a mini turret would work or something like the WizSense, the cams are hardwired (Cat6).

I am looking for no Flashing Lights, no Eco Friendly, Yes Low Profile, Yes 30 Magnification, let me know your thoughts please. Street.jpg

If you want to get usable footage from that position, and it is a good position, replace that with a Dahua Z4E or Z12E. Right now it is just an overview cam, which is fine if that is all you want. But if you want plates or faces, you need more zoom.

Here are my Z4-E's.
only one of them is positioned well enough to really do a "gotcha" plate capture. Straight road.
Your challenge there, like mine, is the variability of the "presentation angle" of the moving cars/plates.
If i want to dedicate the one showing the temps to LPR, I have to aim for the intersection, and do about 80%-100% zoom....which then snips off the townhouse entrance to the left of the frame.
I really would need another Z-12 on duty over there, to get full coverage.

the Z4E in the video has changing light angles throughout the day giving plate reading from this view about a 50% chance.
And you really cant call this a plate capture setup. Its an over view with some occasional dumb luck.
