- there's some 4K PTZ that works fine for 2+ years.
It can last for years if you use it properly. You are correct a tour is a useless function and should be eliminated.Hello,
I can understand the frustration of Evgenioz. The SD6AL830V is a very expensive camera from the Ultra series. Why does the camera have a tour function if it destroys the camera in a very short time? There are motors today that can last for years, why does Dahua use motors that can't?
Autotraking is advertised by Dahua, but doesn't work properly. There is nothing in the Technical Documentation about these limitations.

Of course there is no limitation in the specs, it's common sense. No one else lists limitations but we know that they all have them. Buy another brand. I'm sure it will last for many years constantly moving aroundThere's no limitations in Dahua ads and technical specs related to the tour functions. So any consumer can expect/hope that cam will work properly for 1.5-2 years at least (and than can be serviced for 10-30% of price).
BTW SD6AL830V costs about half (2000eur) of Axis Q6128-E. But Dahua is Chinese brand, and Axis is much expensive US-brand.
My cam use 5 secs pauses between 6 destination points and 20 sec pause between rotations. And lasts for just 150 days. I have hot spare for all of my cams, but swap the cams every 150 days is ridiculous.
Forget dahua, they protect their cameras from abuse from folks like youI don't expect "last for many years", I need just 2 years (local warranty from Dahua)
Yes, because the motors used in air conditioners are the same as camsHello,
I am a control engineer for air conditioning technology and therefore somewhat surprised. We expect from the
servomotors have a service life of 10 years. I have servomotors from "Landis Gyr" which have been working without failure since 1990. These rules at least 8 months a year continuously 24 hours.
