Dahua IPC EASY unbricking / recovery over TFTP

Hello good afternoon,

I have a Dahua HCVR7108H system with 4 cameras connected.
The system has always worked fine, however recently in the middle of the night it started to beep. To stop the noise I turned it off and on again, and from there, it didn't work anymore! The front and inside(board) LED work, but nothing else! Network cable connected but no light on the connector. I tried to connect to different screens, (VGA and HDMI), but no signal is emitted!

Any suggestion?

Still haven’t figured out how to connect to serial on the Dahua 49225PTZ (ie can’t locate the serial pins on the cam)…has anybody done this by any chance?? Would love some guidance/help badly!
Right now, this great camera is just sitting here dead :(….I’m pretty positive it just needs a re-flash of firmware

I managed to get the Chinese version installed using DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_Chn_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000018.0.R.210707.bin

I have several Honeywell HRHH DVRs that are currently unbootable that I would like to try to flash but I don’t know the complete method. I’m pretty sure they all have corrupted firmware. They have serial ports that show the booting process. I have the firmware file I need to flash to it. When booting it eventully shows “LZMA data is corrupt”.

The serial port data shows the TFTP after a few seconds:

Do I need to somehow create the 'upgrade_info_7db780a713a4.txt' file?

Totally screwed with my VTH1510CX

Upgraded to the latest firmware 4.3 (SIP) just to realise that it does not support the VTO 2.0

Tried to downgrade first to 4.0 (non SIP) and bricked it.

Managed to setup the TFTP but the best I can get is to download one of the files romfs or kernelfs then everything hangs and I have no clue as I don't have a serial port.

Tried many combinations of files and commands.txt - anybody solved this before?
 
I'm trying to cross-flash Flir N253EA8 to Dahua N84CG52.
I see the request for upgrade_info_7db780a713a4.txt, and when I serve the empty file it asks for failed.txt

Anyone knows what to put inside the files for the camera to accept the firmware?

Woke up yesterday to no signal on my IPC-HFW1831C-PIR, a reboot didn't bring it back up, and it just has a solid red led on between what is the white leds on the front.

A bit of investigation shows that all cams on the same switch this one is plugged into all went down / rebooted about the same time. It was raining heavily at the time, and on another cam not connected to that switch there seemed to be a flash (of lightning) about the time this happened. SO suspect that caused this (however everything is on UPS, and as far as I know all my other equipment was ok).

I have tried the reset button on the IPC-HFW1831C-PIR, but no difference.

I have taken the camera down, connected it to a spare (isolated) poe switch, and also plugged a space pc into said switch. Got the Dahua_TFTPBackup.zip file, and extracted files to pc. Also installed Wireshark on pc. Set IP on pc to 192.168.254.254, and disabled Firewall. I can run TFTPServer.bat and Console.bat and it says they are listening on port 69 and 5002, however nothing else ever comes up on them (even when disconnecting and re-connecting the camera network wire to reboot it).

A wireshark scan shows ARP Broadcast messages saying:

who has 192.168.1.1? Tell 192.168.1.251

But nothing else from the camera.

Anyone have any ideas or seen this before. Any chance I can get the cam back, or just cut my losses and get a new one.

If anyone can help me, please do it. This camera is now not responding to anything, it is stuck in a firmware update process. It only communicates with the TFTP server. ConfigTool can't see it, it doesn't appear on the network except for TFTP.
Any help is welcome.

Hi all, I tried to swap out firmware on my new Amcrest IP cam using the tftp method and am getting the error below when trying to complete the flash with the .FLASHING_DONE_STOP_TFTP_NOW file. I've been unable to get any matches with Google on this error/issue. All the files TFTPd successfully to the camera. The "Install" file in the original Amcrest firmware is identical to that in the replacement firmware - all the HWIDs match. I also tried going back to original Amcrest firmware with the same results.

I also noticed that firmware that this camera came with isn't available yet for download. So perhaps there's new signing keys that are blocking the install. However, I would think there would be some error more clear than "auf run upgrade, run command failed" "auf: fauled to run upgrade cmd, ret is -1"

Any ideas?

I also tested all of the dX commands (tested a-z) are supported. I'm wondering if there are new commands that I need?
