Hello. I just got my first Dahua IPC-HDW231RP-Z and, I have to admit, it's been a struggle.

I ordrered a Dahua IPC-HDW5231R-Z
IPC-HDW5231RP-Z was sent which I presume to be the same

This is how it came and remains unchangedlabel_blurred.jpg label_blurred.jpg .
Software Version: 2.460.0000.14.R, Build Date: 2017-07-20
WEB Version: 3.2.1.474688
ONVIF Version: 16.12(V2.3.1.458331)

This is where I stand at this time:
Windows Browsers:
  • Internet Explorer OK with plugin
  • Pale Moon OK with plugin
  • Chrome not OK with plugin. Unsucessful
  • Firefox not OK with plugin. Unsucessful
  • Edge Not OK

SmartPhones
  • iPhone:
    • Safari asks to download and install plugin. Unsucessful
    • Chrome asks to download and install plugin. Unsucessful
  • Droid untested
The camera and I are in sad shape with all these failures.

A more minor issue is being unable to selectively delete recordings from the 64GB chip in the camera.

I found links to firmware updates in thread #134335. My camera is PAL. Is it safe to install the NTSC version? Should I update it at all?

What should I be doing about all these failures, especially the Smartphone failures? There will be a few iPhone users who will need regular access.

Thank you for your advice.
