Dahua IPC-HDW4631C-A bricked after update from WEB - unsuccessful recovery

do you have another poe switch or poe adapter? Rather than connect the camera directly to the nvr can you try to connect to it over the network?

Today I did try to connect the camera to the router with a separate power supply and found out that it can still identify the cam with same error message. “Device is not compatible”

I was able to upgrade my chinese version of IPC-HDW4631C-A via web interface without issue. My guess is your hacked non-chinese version firmware prevents you from upgrading. You do know the latest non-chinese version Dahua NVR doesn't support Chinese region hardware, right (I learned it the hard way.) Link. So I doubt you can upgrade the Chinese version firmware with your Dahua NVR. Fortunately I also use BI. I still can use BI to record the video from IPC-HDW4631C-A.
 
Hello, Please share the full dump flash firmware of the Chinese hardware version. I have uploaded the wrong version, the bootloader resets.

I have also a HDW4631C-A with this old firmware "Vendor: Group, Build: 2017-09-04 15:51:04, Version: 2.460.GP01.16.R".

If you check the device, you will get the following info:

I have seen in this thread that upgrading to a newer FW the IPC will brick and I do not understand really why.

When checking for example DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000018.0.R.210707.bin, you will find a check.img which includes als this hwid ("IPC-HDW5631C:01:02:05:5F:21:00:01:0E:01:00:00:2D0:00:00:00:00:00:01:00:00:200")

So, why does this FW will not work ?

Any hint is welcome.
 
I'm not sure it would brick the camera. It may take the firmware, however it will boot with chinese language after applying new firmware.
 
Not sure, that this is correct. Checking the *.bin (check.img) shows, that:
"SupportLanguages" : "English,Italian,Spanish,Russian,French,German,Portuguese,Polish,Korean,Czech,Dutch,Arabic,SpanishEU"
So, chinese is not part of this firmware image.
 
Hi Guys, I have the same camera twice, one bricked. If you guys can tell me how to pull stuff from the working camera (Chinese Aliexpress but with English Web), I can fix mine and share it here!

You need to read out flash from working camera and program bricked flash with content from working. Than edit ENV (serial no, MAC probably, I don’t remember ) via serial console. And that’s it
