some of the ones i select just show a no signal on the camera screen others show a no signal and then state check username/password/port?

Did you try the 'Dahua' & 'Main Stream RTSP' drop-down as suggested in post #20 above?

Finally figured it out, had the password wrong, I never had to mess with the password on my other cameras and when I set this one up I put a different password. thanks for the help and patience

Any idea why the camera would be putting off a lot of heat? Is this normal, I never noticed my other cameras putting off this much heat.

What is a "lot of heat"?
Smoking?
Too hot to touch?
Warm to the touch?

They do run warm, if you enable the temp display, that will show you what temp is inside the cam.
Easily can run 90-100F with the IR on.
