Dahua NVR Web Interface text not showing properly after upgrade

Dear all,

I manually upgraded my NVR to the latest firmware on Dahua's website. The last time I upgraded the firmware was in 2019. Subsequent attempts and clicking don't he button didn't reveal any new firmware. Hence, after I found a new version on the website today, I did a manual upgrade.

My issue is the text on the WebInterface looks wrong (see image below). It is like the language file was not available, or pointed to the wrong file.

Any help on how to proceed will help. Many thanks.

Use Internet Explorer and see what it looks like. You will ideally need to accept the web plugins.

Alas, my Windows 11 doesn't come with Internet Explorer anymore... I've tried in Edge, and the result is the same.

Any other ideas?

Perhaps trying to reinstall the firmware? Or try a factory reset?

I've tried to reinstall the firmware, DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.002.0000000.5.R.220729, but no difference. I've used both the webinterface and configtool to upgrade the firmware, but no luck.

I've yet to do a factory reset. hhm.. not sure if that's going to help

You've probably already tried this, but if not, try clearing your cache

ah... I tried "Internet Explorer Mode" and that works. need install one of those plugins again sigh.. I thought I can use the newer browsers now.

I am contemplating this, but not sure which ones to use, and the potential risk with downgrading the firmware.
