DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.001.0000000.1.R.200319.zip

I applied this update to my 5216-4ks2 its now in reboot loop how can i fix this device is not working plsss helpppp! How can i go back to version 3.216. 00004

I have a NVR5216-4KS2 but purchased Aug of 2017. Does the 4.0 firmware only work with hardware purchased 2019 and up?

Check your system information and see if it says V1 or V2.

I think the initial post at the moment suggests that it is for V2 only - I had it installed on my V1 but had problems as per my older post. There's also potentially a boot loop issue with the post before yours that may be caused by applying this firmware to V1... Maybe I just got lucky.

I think we probably need some clarification from @EMPIRETECANDY Andy on this perhaps...

Where does one look to find this. All my 5216-4ks2 says for model is "NVR". On the web interface, smartPss, and hardwired monitor.

I have a V1 as well with NVR4.0, no issues thus far but running firmware from
December, 2019

Have twice now found that the NVR has reset it's static IP address on a different subnet to 192.168.1.108 from the correct address. No human intervention, not a DHCP or router issue....

Same issue happened to me. NVR reset itself to 192.168.1.108. I didn't realize there was a V1 & V2 version......

When I go to the interface and "setup/system/upgrade" I see
System Version:3.215.0000001.0Build Date:2018-03-26

When I go to "info" tab I see

Device Type:NVR
Record Channel:16
Alarm In:4
Alarm Out:2
SN:[redacted not sure if helps]
Web Version:3.2.3.95223
Onvif Version:2.4.1
System Version:3.215.0000001.0, Build Date: 2018-03-26

The device says NVR5216-4KS2 on the bottom

Is 1.0 on system version a hint??

Andy's list shows DHI-NVR5232-4KS2,DHI-NVR5208-8P-4KS2,DHI-NVR5232-16P-4KS2,DHI-NVR5208-4KS2,DHI-NVR5216-4KS2,DHI-NVR5216-8P-4KS2,DHI-NVR5232-8P-4KS2,DHI-NVR5216-16P-4KS2,DHI-NVR5416-4KS2,DHI-NVR5464-4KS2,DHI-NVR5432-4KS2,DHI-NVR5816-4KS2,DHI-NVR5416-16P-4KS2,DHI-NVR5432-16P-4KS2,DHI-NVR5464-16P-4KS2,DHI-NVR5832-4KS2,DHI-NVR5864-4KS2,DHI-NVR5816-16P-4KS2,DHI-NVR5832-16P-4KS2,DHI-NVR5864-16P-4KS2,DHI-NVR5424-24P-4KS2,DHI-NVR5224-24P-4KS2,DHI-NVR5216-8P-4KS2E,DHI-NVR5208-8P-4KS2E

My system is in the list but not sure what v1, v2 means. It is an older (2017 purchase but the 5216 line...).

Should I try the 2020 or the 2019 4.0 firmware.
If it goes wrong is there a thread in here on reverting. Assuming I just reset to defaults then load the older, then load the backup config.
Not sure if it requires tftp server and doing trick/tweak loading on boot??

View web interface (In running v4.0 firmware), go to Operation -> Information. It will then show a hardware version.

EDIT: Perhaps take the results with a grain of salt..... see posts below. Sometimes this may not match up to stickers under unit too. Suggest checking the PCB internally might be the safest option perhaps...

So I need to put on the 4.0 firmware then check for hardware version (assuming it would work because if I have 1.0 and it could break). Is there a way to check it in the 3.0 firmware before leaping?
Good to see yours is 1.0...
So looks like the 4.0 can install on v1. This is the 2019 firmware did you find the 2020 didn't work? Is 2019 the way to go for v1.0 stab?

Sorry on my phone at the moment but yes, the 2019 firmware works fine for V1, there may be minor bugs. See the posts by @redfive earlier in the year who tested a few versions from memory

Hardware version question too. Bought my NVR 5216-16P-4KS2E from Andy last July. The date on the shipping box states 2019-06
The label on the bottom of the actual NVR has "V2.00 next to the P/N. The NVR's web interface states hardware version V1.0
Direct logon to the NVR states hardware version V1.0 So what is the actual version?

Interesting. Bought mine from Amazon 2 weeks ago. Exact same part number as you. Front panel has Dahua name on it. Same bottom label too but no version number on my label at all. Web interface agrees with yours - mine says hardware is V1.0. Your web interface says the Device Model is just "NVR". My web interface says "DHI-NVR5216-16P-4KS2E". My firmware is currently on the 2019-12-06 version. I had upgraded the firmware the day I got it. I don't recall the prior version number.

I just noticed that my NVR5432-16P-4KS2 shows Hardware V1.0. Everything seems to work fine locally at the NVR but now I am trying to set up IVS trip wire with a HDW5442 camera and it's not working. If I'm not mistaken, Live View used to work for me with the 2019 versions of the 4.0 software. I just tried to update(downgrade) the firmware to the 20191101 firmware version remotely but after it came back online, it's still the 200319 version. Reading the manual at it looks like the February 2020 firmware release updated the baseline version and I'm assuming that's why I started getting the certificate error on live view and why the Hardware V1.0 isn't supported.

Any suggestions on how to downgrade to the latest 2019 version?

@EMPIRETECANDY, I would like to report a bug I discovered on the NVR5216-16P-4KS2e. Under the Camera>POE, all 8 ePOE ports are reporting link quality as "POOR". I have confirmed that they were reported as "GOOD" in previous firmware. Hope this helps. Thanks!

Andy said the DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.001.0000000.1.R.200319.bin is for V2 only. For V1 hardware, what is the latest firmware that is safe to upgrade to?

Seems the consensus is DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.000.0000001.2.R.20191101.bin, the last one from 2019. But when I looked up the Dahua Wiki
for DHI-NVR52A16-16P-4KS2, the NVR I have, the firmware available for download is DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.001.0000000.0.R.200221.bin. So I think this is the one before the R.200319. Will this be safe to upgrade to for V1 owners?

I have upgraded tens V2 and tens V1 versions with V4.001.0000000.1.R.200319, no issues so far, cant understand the fuss.

Can you ‘Live View’ from web on both versions? I get a download certificate message. Live view still works from smartpss.
