Did I Miss Something or Is Eco Savvy 4.0 (Pro AI) New ?

Interesting to know if the face capture works or not. My Nest doorbell captures faces and sends it as an alert but doorbells are mounted at a lower level and can get a direct shot of the person whereas most cameras are mounted up high and probably need the person to look directly at it in order to work.

I was just comparing the datasheet of the DH-IPC-HDW5241TM-AS versus the DH-IPC-HDW4231EM-ASE. The new 5241 has 512MB/128MB RAM/ROM compared to the 4231 256MB/32MB. Other features are very similar except the 5241 records at 30fps and not 60fps.
 
Lol, just played a IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E

Can be colorful at good street light. I think around 200meters. Full testing, i will invite looney to make some review next week.

Andy, thanks for sharing. Have you heard if Dahua is going to release a 4MP Z12 model this year to replace / enhance the 5231-Z12 line up today ? I see the IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E is of course 2MP still but with the AI features. Thanks for any additional information you can share with us

Here is a short video by IPC-T5442TM-AS, all by defaulted. Under street light it has full color pics.

Camera's reset button is very easy to access, no need to open the housing again, not convenient at all.

Will use OEM model No. now, so try to sell as cheaper as i can. Both 3 lens i will get some, but most users use 2.8mm, 3.6mm. 6mm not too many. Just add a short video.:)

- Whats the difference between HDW5442TM-AS-LED and HDW5442TM-AS. Why would one choose one over the other ? The specs look very similar except the IR vs LED.

- Is there any new equivalent camera to the the HFW1831E 8mp bullet?

- Now that the 4mp cams have got much better night time illumination, does that mean the 4mp now become the gold standard recommendation instead of the revered 2mp starlights (HDW5231R-ZE / HDW4231EM-ASE) ?

LED one has limited IR distance, so we mainly sell the IR model, right now 4mp can be a better choice for low light place. 2MP 3.0 models still working great, because cheaper;)

These are not vari-focals, are they? Any idea if or when those will become available? I'd love a true starlight 4MP version of the 5231 if it's not much more.

The link is working. the camera is smaller than the IPC-HDW5231R-ZE, not easy to put a motor inside the camera's housing.

Yes, that link works. But if I click it and go to that page and click on either of the two cameras listed there I'm not taken to the product page for that specific camera. Instead I get a page which shows many different cameras from different brands and vendors.

But you don't know if they'll be releasing a 5231 successor with a 4MP true starlight sensor?

As i know no such plan. Only bullet will have motorized lens.
