Can anyone verify whether my HikVision DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR is a Chinese version or not? The serial number has the letter codes CCRR and WCVU in it. For example, 1234567890CCRR123456789WCVU.

The firmware is V3.4.62, Build 160503. So, I'd like to know if I ever upgrade the firmware will I run the risk of bricking the NVR.

"NI" Just means that it is the international Model.
C - CPU Freq
C - DSP Freq
RR - This is your region code which is "Other/Unspecified"

If it was China the "RR" would be "CH"

The WCVU are the options install which is really standard across all PN's and Models (Web kit, Video Type Selection, VGA, USB)

No, I haven't upgraded my NVR since I posted this question in 2016 (that's 6 years ago).
It's still running good,, and I'm afraid to try any upgrades at this point.
