Trump wins election November 5
Immediately appointed presidential level secret service protection
The secret service started testing new drones mid November to provide protection for the new president.
All the bureaucratic three letter agencies were not told because those agencies currently have Biden appointees and would just get in the [redacted] way.
Once in office, Trump will use his executive power to authorize spending.

Super high resolution cameras with infrared night vision.
AI powered threat detection provided by Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, etc.
Internet connectivity provided by Starlink.

Just look at the list of inauguration donors.

If it was over my house, I think that would be a good test, then look for someone crying about their drone.

Drones are already considered disposable assets. Armor adds weight which reduces range, duration, altitude. They are commercial drones to protect the incoming president. Military drones cost too much and require too much logistically support. Public will not be thrilled with armed Predators flying over the US populated areas. Besides they are high altitude, slow, and require someone to pilot. Low cost commercial drones for pure surveillance and protection with on board AI for threat detection. They can fly autonomously in coordinated swarms to cover large swaths of ground and simply report back detected threats for human assessment and immediate ground response. The only people this is a mystery to is the current administration, who will all find themselves unemployed in January.
