DS-2CD2342WD-I Password reset

Ok. That version of firmware is too new to have the ability to extract the configuration file by that method, unfortunately.
The vulnerability was fixed after being widely exploited.

Thanks Alistair for getting back to me
I'm presuming its Mail HikVision who I seem to recall last time were unhelpful as I have no proof of purchase or I have an expensive paper weight ?
any other options ?how are pwd's set after a pwd reset - surely there must be a default pwd ??

After a 'reset to factory default settings' the camera goes to the 'inactive' state, which then requires a new admin password to be created to change it to the 'active' state.

I have attached the 2 config files for my 2 cameras.
For the first camera, the password for admin=500bryant
For the second camera, the password for admin=500bryant

There is another plaintext password that does not seem to be linked to an account that you may recognise :
500bryantsthoa

Worked like a charm! Logged in, factory reset with Default function, and set to DHCP. Thank you very much! Cheers!
