DS-7608N-E2/8P bricked and no TFTP available

Hello,

I accidently update the firmware of my NVR, I totally forgot that this one comes from China with hacked firmware. It's now bricked with the 15 beep, but I don't see the !!!!!!!you Device is illegal, Please call factory!!!!!!
Maybe I have seen it few month ago but not anymore.
AS far as I know, the tftp method no longer work with new firmware so now I'm stuck, I have to use the RS232 method.

Few question:
- Can I do like this video ?
- What is the pinout to connect to the RS232 adapter?

It's the white 4-pin 1.5mm JST ZH connector to the left of the 3 capacitors near the power cable, above and to the right of the SAT cables.
But it's not RS232, it's serial TTL, different signal levels.

Yes, firmware can be applied via the serial console - but it would need to be 'hacked to English' firmware to fix the problem.

Do you have the exact pinout ? (TX / RX / GRN / 5V)
And just to be sure about the firmware, can I use this one? Hikvis DS-7608N-E2/8P - Bricked after firmware update
This is old but I don't find any newer hacked firmware :(

Hi All,

Have a DS-7716N-E4/16P Chinese model trying to restore after a failed firmware up date tried the steps listed but no luck

Pressing any keys results in this being displayed

Or - if you can stop the bootloader with Control-U do the firmware update from the resulting command prompt.

You will have CN menus though with the stock firmware as it is a CN NVR.

I tried pressing and holding Control + U but just comes up with

"SysRq : Emergency Remount R/O"

Any further thoughts?

But now after that you can update firmware by GUI?
