Hi

I've installed CAT6 cable around my home in preparation for installing my IP cameras.

One of the cable accidentally got cut and I don't want run a new cable as it's fitted through the walls. What would be the best solution to ensure that my cameras will work fine? Could I use a coupler? Or would that hinder the cameras performance.

If needed, I could run a new cable but it will be a lot of work.

Thanks

A coupler will increase attenuation which can be an issue in a long run...depending on where it is located it can degrade and oxidize (i would wrap it in coax seal)...cant hurt to try it..

Use gel crimps connectors they make the best repair.

Coupler , they make a punch down coupler that I've seen on amazon before but never used it

On 2 of my cameras, the path is tricky and required he use of two couplers per line. I bought metal-case Cat6 couplers from Amazon and they work fine.
