My apologies if this has been asked - I have not read all 12 pages of this thread.
I have two questions related to firmware identification. The first is general while the second is camera-specific.
1. Both Dahua's and EmpireTech's firmware listings include two different dates. EmpireTech has "Build Date" and "Lastest Time". For Dahua's site you can see the build date at the end of the filename and then a "Last Update".
How is the build date related to the other date? What has changed since the build and why isn't that considered a new build? Once flashed to a camera, only the build date is readable. How would anyone know which update it is?
2. I recently got an
IPC-B52IR-Z12E-S2. It came with "
V3.100.0000000.5.R, Build Date: 2023-05-09" flashed. Looking for updates reveals these available firmware versions.
From Dahua with a note about "S3"
IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E - Dahua Technology
- DH_IPC-HX5XXX-single-
RiemannMultiLang_PN_Stream4V3.100.0000000.6.R.230802.zip
And from EmpireTech where I am similarly confused regarding "S2", "S3", or "". The filenames are the same but appear to target a different "architecture" than the Dahua file (Volt vs. Riemann).
Model | Lastest Time | Build Date | Filename |
IPC-B52IR-Z12E / IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E | 2023-07-18 | 2023-04-25 | General_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.840.0000000.25.R.230425.bin |
IPC-B52IR-Z12E-S3 | 2023-09-11 | 2023-08-02 | General_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.840.0000000.25.R.230425.bin |
Which version is correct for my camera? I'm leaning toward Dahua's Riemann given the "V3.1" that matches what is currently flashed.
Is there a difference between the two EmpireTech files given the different "Lastest Times" and "Build Dates" that would make one compatible with my camera and the other incompatible?
