Frustrate: Blur....

Do you have an SD card in the camera that you could pull the image from.

When it really counts, that is where I pull from instead of BI. BI is fine for most situations, but the late night perp I usually pull from the SD card in the camera as it is just a tad better.

Now that you found this site, make your future purchases from @EMPIRETECANDY a trusted vendor on this site from either his Amazon page, website, or direct.

He sells international versions of Dahua cameras without the logo, so Dahua OEM, and usually for a lot less (3 to 5 times less depending on if you buy from authorized reseller or installer).

That camera is the USA version of the 58IR-Z4E (5842-Z4E) and he sells it for $285.

We can tell by the font/size of the timestamp if it is mainstream or substream and you cut that off the image.

I sure hope I'm not frustrating you all. I know we are on the right track fixing this. All of these setting changes are new to me. I didn't even know it was low res!

I'm not seeing those "image source" data elements on my snapshot photo, nor on the BI video.

Here are the BlueIris settings and the most current image.

No you are good, we want to help you get the most you can.

I have both the 4MP and the 8MP and see some of the same stuff you see, but not as bad as you are experiencing during the day.

How far zoomed are you in? Can you zoom in just a little more - I think the dark tree on the right on this side of the gate is messing the exposure and certainly will at night with IR bounce.

A little better, but it seems to be still struggling a bit.

Try fixed shutter 1/4000 and gain 0-5 and let's see what happens.

I'm not a BI guy but surely there is a way to get a simple full res image out of it?

Last thing I would suggest to help us figure out why the image sucks, is to set exposure to 1/60 fixed. That will allow almost max light into the camera and see if the horrible artifacts go away

I dont think its camera issue. Surely someone else has the 5842 with a decent sample image?

To be fair, that is a screenshot of the image as opposed to a snapshot export. I still don't think an actual export will improve it - I see the square blocking segments indicative of the sensor working too hard to try to create an image, although I guess that could also be indicative of his monitor showing up in a print screen capture.

An export from the SD card will be the true indicator.

It looks to be struggling with lack of light to me. It shouldnt but thats what it looks like

Agree an SD card image should be around 8MB

Do you have a recommended NVR? I've been using BI for years. My main reason is the ability to access the cameras and alerts on my phone.
My goal of course is to capture the highest quality video images. I have Hikvision and Dahua cameras.

Let's figure out if it is the camera or your monitor before spending even more money LOL.

Like I said BI is fine for 99.9% of exports, but doing a screenshot like you are doing instead of an actual snapshot could be part of the issue.

Lets save that discussion for later. NVRs give alerts to your phone too.
 
Ok scratch that, too much blur so they're going to fast for 1/60, sorry
 
We gotta get an uncompressed image out of that thing
