Help me understand storage / space issue

Back in post #16 of this thread the attached images indicate that the New folder size is set to 100GB and the Stored folder size is set to 3000GB but the Windows folder properties for the New folder report 195GB and the folder properties for the Stored folder report 5.10TB. Are there a bunch of other files in these folders besides the Blue Iris clip files? Something is causing the folder sizes to be significantly greater than the Blue Iris folder limits.

No. Only BI images and video clips. What you are describing is what I am trying to figure out. Windows and BI are not agreeing

you have something strange going on, why do you have 51k files? If you want to do a teamviewer session I can take a look.

I would be very grateful for your time! I will PM you to ask your availability

Just for reference, can we see the camera Record settings screens as well? I’m wondering if you have it taking a 50k snapshots or something directly into your Stored folder, or have protections set ON or something for your camera.

Full Disclosure: BI noob, so fenderman will probably find and fix this in a 30 second meeting.

Replied but getting ready to head to bed for the night. 51k files is probably due to one of the cameras being set to take a jpg every 2 sec when triggered.....I just turned that off. My alerts are not working and within the BI UI the system think that their is nothing older than around the time I deleted the db folder. So even though the folders are full of clips its like it only recognizes the files created after the db folder was deleted. Strang thing is it is not adding to the alerts folder like it should. If you had not offered to help I would have deleted EVERYTHING tonight and started over. Since you are willing to help I will leave it as is until we can figure this out. I would like to learn from the experience.

We must have been writing at the same time. One of them WAS set to take snapshots every 2 seconds when triggered but I turned that off an hour ago. Protect is not enabled for any camera below. However I appreciate and and all help. Here are the images as requested

Big thanks to @fenderman for providing some assistance. He believes my issue was a combination of me storing tons of jpeg files / hi res alerts. I don't know why I started that system doing that. He got me up and running now and I'm very grateful for his help and this forum.

i think BI was not deleting the old alert files so you actually had much more data on the drive then you thought. Lets see what happens. Also having 500,000 alert files can cause issues...
