Here's how to read Hikvision serial numbers

i'm newbie from Portugal and i need help to reset password of my Hikivision NVR.
i 've already send an email to the support of Hikivision and the answer is:
As we announced on our website, Hikvision España only provides after-sales support to the official distribution channel in Spain and Portugal for professional services, not to units acquired by any other means, nor to end users or installers of the same.

i' m not profissional but only the last customer.

Is it any way to reset NVR paswword, i adquire it from a friend, but he don' remenber the password.
All th menu is in chinese,where can i download th firmware to put it in English
my NVR is DS-7108N-F1(B)

This thread popped up in my search to determine where my system was made/sold.

I am in the US.

Our church inherited the system with the building we are in. We would like to use it, but we can't reset the password...
And I can't seem to find the correct SADP link and support team to send the registration ID....

We have DS-7608NI-E20820160324AARR585597409WCVU-202103171530...

Which according to this thread, RR means "Other/unspecified"

The label has the 'eurpoean conformity" label on it... ?

How am I to reset the system password so we can use the system?

So the cameras are on the LAN, as opposed to being connected to NVR PoE ports.
What does SADP show for the firmware version of the cameras?
If any cameras are 5.4.0 or earlier, it should be possible to extract the camera password, which may be the same as the NVR password.

All the genuine supported NVR's (ie from Hikvision distributors) I've seen in Australia are region RR.

Hello,

Below you will find the s/n of the nvr and camera’s 5 MP8 and 1 6MP camera exir dome’s.
When we first connected the customer to hik connenct 5 worked then i resseten one camera en onbounded the customer.
So i could see on my hik connect account now we can onley see 3 camera’s.
The one in red do not work i have noticed that they all have s/n with WRE.

Later Model Cameras/NVR Serial Numbers generally begin with a Letter, however still have the same number of characters (9)
So just to clarify, what is the Region Code & Serial Number .......................... see pic

Whats the model number of the Cameras? ..................... might be best if you could use SADP Tool & upload the details of the camera as this will provide relevant information, such as model, SN & current Firmware installed

Mine's a DS-2CD2087G2-LU(2.8mm).

Does anyone knows what are the differences between a (C) and non-C firmware?
Somehow my unit only accepts non-C firmware (which can be downloaded from Hikvision US/Australia).

Mine is the same RR, also my system is an 8ch (8 cameras only, 8 Ethernet connections on back) however in the serial number it specifies its a 16ch.

There are 16-ch models that have 8 PoE ports, the other 8 channels are supplied from LAN-connected cameras.
What's the full serial number?
