Hi,
Let me get right to the point - I need HELP!
I belong to a church with a private school and joined the security team. The teams mission is to make our community facility safer. Obviously, recent school shootings have everyone on edge and wanting whatever can be done to make places of worship and schools safer. Our goal is not just shootings but general safety of all crimes. Don't want this to get political but we are putting in for a grant and required to list specific needs and wants. The security team I'm on would like a security camera setup and I've been charged with getting something on paper "by Monday evening!"
I know little about all this but know I would like Blue Iris as my software. Heard great things and the package is dirt cheap compared to what some other professional services charge (ongoing charges). This is something that will be done in-house to lower the cost. There are so many other things we need and costs are getting really expensive quickly (fobs, locks, bullet proof glass, lighting, etc.).
Is anyone welling to help by putting a dream package together? Okay, hold on! The dream can only go to $3,000 dollars. We have network cable laid (CAT5) or can easily pull it for POE. We only need to start with 6 cameras. Only caveat I have is that I want a system that will allow future growth potential. If I had to guess, I would say 20 cameras absolute max down the road.
Not knowing "specifically" what to get, I'm guessing as to parts I would need:
Blue Iris software, computer, display, surge protector, POE switch, cat 5 cable and connectors, and cameras. Maybe more???
Anyone willing to help? I really am desperate here!
Thanks for takeing the time to read all this!
