However would any of those make a difference to why the cam images arent showing when using the app over wifi?

Havent reset to factory yet as I want to avoid having to reconnect all my wifi devices.
I don't think you need to do that - the restart was enough to eliminate the router being in an incorrect state.

However would any of those make a difference to why the cam images arent showing when using the app over wifi?
To be honest - I've no idea.
We're all scratching our heads over this problem.

I know. The guys who installed it have no idea. Hikvision and BT were no help. Even a networking specialist had no idea.

are you using a router modem combo? if so you may have a nat loopback issue...what happens if you use your cameras/nvr local ip address in the app? if it works then it confirms the problem.

Hi no just a BT smart hub 6.
The IP address showing in app is the same as the one on the SADP tool.

Hi

Just checking cams from work and they dont work at all now. Last week they worked on 4G now they show the error “failed to receive data from device”. Tried to log in to the website and that just fails.

So basically I dont have a working system whatsoever. Back on the phone to the installers this afternoon.

I understand you "...want to avoid having to reconnect all my wifi devices", but at this point I think if it were me I would perform a "Factory Reset" and go through the "Smart Setup" before you contact BT again.

How would I check to see if IP address should be different?

When on the LAN, something like whatsmyip.com shows what it actually is.
On the WAN the resolution of your DDNS name will show the current IP setting.
What are you using to keep DDNS updated?

Well i have turned the dvr off at the source. It was in my loft. Turned it back on.

DDNS now works when connected to wifi.
App now works on wifi but not using the original “home” device listed. That is still greyed out. Now there is a new device by IP address. Can now see cams.

BUT cannot see any by wifi.

The exact opposit to all of last week.

I have noticed the IP address is slightly different. Does anyone know how to change how I would view it via the app externally / by 4G?

I believe the problem lies in your router not supporting nat loopback thats all.
I believe in order to watch either on lan and outside, you need to add cams 2 times, once with dyndns once with local ip
