I am also interested to downgrade EU R6 version from current 5.4.1 to 5.3.8.
I think there is no hope for us...
Yesterday I wrote an e-mail to hikvision support with a request to help me... They didn't answer yet.
It seems that we have to wait for next release of firmware...

Hi, is there any chance to downgrade from 5.4.x to 5.3.x on EU R6 series? Would really appreciate such a version...

The brickfixV2 method used for unbricking and updating could also be used to downgrade the firmware, as part of what is done is to remove the downgrade block.
The process could be followed but without making any changes to mtdblock6, just installing the needed firmware at the end of the process.
See the link below.

Hi guys what are the issues with 5.4? I was going to upgrade to get gmail working. Is there a 5.4.x that works well?

Problem for me is I use all
-line intrusion
-intrusion
-motion
-all write to SD
-email for line & intrusion
-push notifications for motion although if line & intrusion worked i'd use that

I have a very specific need for downgrading my camera.

Advidia A-34 and Hikvision DS-2CD2132F-I are the exact same camera. I use video insight as my VMS. You can import an Advidia camera in video insight for free. Importing a Hikvision costs money via a license per camera. Since they are EXACTLY the same (advidia cameras are just rebranded Hikvision), you can upload the advidia firmware to a hikvision camera and it'll show up as Advidia in VI. In order to do this, the Hikvision camera must be running 5.3.X or lower.

Hence, I need to downgrade my 5.4.X cameras back to 5.3

Show your Advidia A-34 screenshot with firmware version.
Your VMS check model name?
