Hi just use this firmware, and you will have Multilingual support. It's version 3.10 if you are on 3.2.1 you will have to TFTP it on, if you are on 3.08 or 3.10 you can load it via the web inteface or a usb stick.

I just flashed it to my Chinese 7816N-E2, looking good!
3.0.10 multi-language.
Seems OK with a few cameras.

One source of beeps is any of these exceptions being configured to give an audible warning.
Do have an HDD installed but not yet formatted?

Yes, the annoying bleeps are hard drive missing or not formated, just pop in a drive to stop it.

Please read this thread all the information is here 2cd3xxx and 2cd2xxx are the same, it's just 3xxx models are China only version for resale.

Restore your origin copy of your mtd5 file, then try again. But you can't do it until you have your firmware on 5.2.3 or low or you will brick.

If you update the checksum as well when modifying the mtd5/mtd6, that works for 2332, I'm not sure if works for 3332. You have to check if the original checksum equals to the analysis - checksum made of highlited area.

First of all you can restore the original mtd5/mtd6 by connecting with USB to RS232/TTL to the camera.

So, is there any noticeable performance difference between the 5.1.6 vs. 5.2.5 to make it worth downgrading? I already have all english, so I'm not sure this would be worth my time to reflash the firmware. Any suggestions?

Hi this is originally English Region 1, it was the final release of 5.1.6.
I have modded the firmware to allow it to be tftp onto chinese region cameras and applied a few hacks so its full English and only English

Is it safe, well its 5.1.6 I have not fixed any possible security issues, and i haven't added any either.

You can tftp it onto any camera, but if you can't see it in SADP, you will have to reflash backup to 5.2.5
On a region 1 camera it will be English on a Region 2 Camera still English.

Did anyone here test the firmware downgrade from "whoslooking" and can give any feedback. Do I have to do it with the TFTP Tool or with the WebGUI?

I´m afraid of downgrading my 5.2.5 china cam without any successstory written here.
