Hikvision IP Camera slow to respond through DVR

Joined because I am having issue with a hikvision ds2de7186ae that is very slow to respond when accessed through DVR. It is a ds-7208hghish. When connecting to the camera using a web browser the camera works just fine. I suspect it is a setting with the bitrate or fps, but I will not make a change until I have good direction or insight.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Without knowing the existing settings it's hard to suggest changes.
Why not just experiment a bit? You can always put the settings back the way they were originally.
How slow is 'very slow'?
Part of the reason may be the video buffering that the DVR has to do in order to have a 'pre-event recording capability'. Do you have an option in the DVR or camera to adjust the 'pre-event record time'?

Thanks for the response. I have not verified the pre-event recording capabilities but I will check it out. I also noticed the camera will disconnect from the dvr from time to time. It is as if the camera loses sync with the dvr and then reconnects. This is not the case when using the web browser.
