How To fix “Read-only File system” issue when SSH access to Hikvision IP Camera

Yes I did, but unfortunately for some people they paid in advance for camera's they had yet to buy.

For these people I and others have sorted their camera's out for free, he made a lot of money from this, then for his own reasons left the seen, my reasons are not for personal gain like others.

Shame as I would have liked to honour our agreement, but he never did for the people whom came to us for help.

Having had a quick look at his posts seems he gave notice he had to leave the scene and wouldn't be able to respond to emails after a certain date. I'm guessing that was for legal reasons (though it's speculation on my part).

I can only find one time where someone looked like they paid for some cameras in advance (getting some early and some later) and out of all the people he helped doesn't seem intentional breaking of a promise to me (and not to you anyway, someone else in your opinion assuming what they said was true and the whole story).

But I guess these things are down to the individual.

That's true, in fact the tools has already been decompile over on cctvforum it shows that is just the mtd hack, and would be of no use to any firmware above 5.25 because of the restrictions put in place by HIK.
But my downgrader takes care of that for now.

Just in case my post gave a different impression - let me just say your work is awesome especially the downgrader.

Great your work is free - though I don't think CBX did anything wrong by doing it for people for a charge that was made clear to them upfront and clearly they thought was worth it. He even offered to do it over Teamviewer if needed.

Agreed, but it wasn't cheap either.
That said he was not the only one charging for this and other services on Hikvision camera. It's a shame before he quit he never released the tool for free, since it reached the end of life use.
