HI to all,
and thank you for creating this forum.
I use Blue Iris for testing my SrIcam Ap004-e ipcamera.
I would like to know if is possible to overlay an url image, directly from web (like in ispy opensource software).

thank you. :)

Do you mean you want to overlay an image from the web that is constantly changing? Over some portion of the camera feed?

I suspect there is a way to do this using an image which is called from a folder on your machine and using the Image overlay. I'm not a programmer so I can't really help there, but I do something similar for a weather overlay I found a couple yrs ago. Something like this http://screencast.com/t/WRObWYlrRV each day the weather changes the icon is updated.

I realize you posted this some time ago but I just now saw it. If I understand correctly what you’re after, I am doing this now successfully. I have a backyard Davis Instruments weather station that uploads weather data to a web page via FTP including a .jpg image depicting temp, wind speed & direction, relative humidity, etc. like a dashboard with gauges. This data and image on the web page is refreshed every 5 minutes or so. I have set up a cam in BI that retrieves the .jpg image portion of that page using a URL as if it were a camera. Now it does not overlay the image onto the video of an actual camera but it shows the image in place of the video. Below are screenshots of the cam's video config, watchdog, etc. that makes this work. It may hiccup occasionally for 10-20 seconds during a FTP image refresh or a reset by the watchdog but it seems reliable. If you decide to use this and discover some things that improve it, please share your findings. Good luck!

TonyR that is a great idea.

I have a Davis Vantage Pro2 but I've never realty taken it that far, but seeing yours makes me now want to build something similar. What HW and SW are you using to extract info from your station and rebuilding onto a web page?

Thanks!
I have the Davis VantageVue, it's been 'up' without a glitch since April 2012, just got a message from it that the CR123 Lithium battery was low after 30 months. Great battery life for a wireless weather station!
For hardware, this is it: http://www.ambientweather.com/da6250.html
The console that receives the data from the wireless outdoor station sits about 6 feet from a Dell Inspiron 620 with an Intel i5, 6GB's of RAM and connects to the weather logging S/W via USB. This PC happens to also be my BI server.
For gathering/logging/uploading that weather data I'm using Ambient Weather's 'Virtual Weather Station Internet Edition', available at http://www.ambientweather.com/viwestinedcd.html
They have a decent wiki here: http://ambientweather.wikispaces.com/
It's not cheap but VERY configurable like BI and it WORKS. The first link above has a link to a trial down at the bottom of the page.

Here's another vendor, however, I cannot attest to its operation or compatibility with your station: http://www.weather-display.com/index.php
One more vendor with an Internet version for $100, can't speak for it either: http://www.weatherview32.com/

Have fun!

Thanks, now I guess I need to invest in a Data Logger to capture the Davis info. Software looks great, thanks for the links. I remember looking at this a couple yrs ago.

Yes, my battery has lasted a couple of years as well, in some pretty rough weather conditions (Canada).
