Inspire 1 INCREDIBLE!!

Yes, that's what made is so funny. I couldn't lift that camera with my DJI Phantom, let alone a drone I can put in my pocket. I should get it today but I really want to get my Phantom out there today. Just added a gimbal and add the camera tilt function to my remote. The small quad is just for fun indoors to tease the dogs and practice my flying skills.

Got my Kiitoys up and running, couldn't resist. This thing is so tiny and surprisingly well made for its size. You can easily have few of these on your hand. I was able to peak the interest of our pets and crashed it numbers times and still works. I just need to find a larger area where I can have time to calibrate the trim so it's not taking off somewhere on it's own.

Nice. No broken propellers yet? I ordered a pack of extra propellers with mine since I would always break them on RC airplanes. Scheduled to arrive Friday.

The extra props I ordered are these: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O9MP0J6

There are a lot of other choices but nothing I could find was a perfect match so I just went with these. Will report back whether they work well or not.

I wish my gimbal was that cheap, paid more than double for one for the Mobius, but the issue is weight, so research before buying because heavier camera and gimbal makes the controls more sluggish and shortens battery life, makes more noise, blah, blah. Check in at rcgroups.com forum and search for gimbals. The really cool think about a gimbal besides stabilizing the video is that you can put a little knob on the back of the remote control to make the gimbal tilt the camera as you turn the knob. It's like a hidden 7th channel on the Phantom.

Cheaper for sure out of China, but Amazon Prime gets it to me in 2 days vs a month at best, so depends on your tolerance. But I wanted to get a few as gifts so that route makes sense for that as there's no rush.

My kiitoys arrived yesterday, and I've run it through 3 charges. No broken propellers. They do get bent out of shape sometimes but you can bend them right back. It came with 4 of its own extra propellers, so I don't know if I'll ever get to the package of 40 spares. I could easily see the motors and battery going bad before I run out of propellers.

I am still not very competent flying this thing, despite all my experience with a larger helicopter that has identical controls. It is just so tiny and goes really fast for its size! Plus you have to rely on the color of the lights to know which direction is forward, so it is a little less intuitive than a helicopter with a traditional body.

if you select ship from USA warehouse, it a few dollar more.

I have flown this kiitoys through over a dozen battery charges, and still no broken propellers. Given that it came with 4 extra already, I can't recommend buying more extras.

Yesterday the Kiitoys quadcopter began flying a little erratic and it hasn't really recovered. Whatever keeps it stable and horizontal in the air went a little wonky, so that now it likes to wobble a little sometimes, especially when the battery is getting low. The controls have also gotten less reliable. Sometimes it stops responding to controls and some number of the blades get stuck spinning (not fast enough for it to take off though) and I have to power cycle it to get it back to normal. Sometimes it gets confused and won't respond to pushing the right stick forward until I pull the right stick all the way back (like it lost calibration). It now tends to screw up one way or another 2 or 3 times per battery charge, whereas when it was new it might do one of these things once in 3 charges.

Maybe it is unrelated to the quadcopter; maybe there is more interference this week than last. Maybe the batteries in the remote are dying already.

I also broke the first of the propeller blades it came with and replaced them all with a new color from my bag of extras. My 3rd party replacements seem lower quality because I have broken 4 of them since yesterday. It also feels like the 3rd party propellers don't provide as much lift, but maybe that is all in my head. They look identical to the propellers that came with it.

I got them over the weekend, so about 2 weeks. I ordered the new CX10A, but have not tried it out yet. These should be easier to fly as they fly towards you or away from you vs. flying towards the front. Not having to care which is the front should make it easier to fly.

Ideally I want it small enough to carry my drink order to the bartender.
