Insurance Fraud Outside My Home

In that case, what are we even all doing here with all these cameras?

May as well take them all down and save the money if we are just going to ignore crime

or get some of them Reolinks instead

@IReallyLikePizza2 - time to take all your old cameras and cut the cords off of them and tell all your neighbors these are the newest tech and don't need plugged in and you will be over tomorrow to hang them up on as many houses as you have cameras LOL. They they won't know which house it was LOL.

We already have cameras on the floor of the House and Senate. We need them, and multiple microphones, in all the offices and "back rooms".

naah they will have CNN filter enabled by default, ... reolinkers will run them in automode anyway ... so they are useless
i am now banned the fifth time on their reddit sub for asking how to change shutter/gain on newer firmwares
LOL

That would have the opposite effect. The defendant's attorney will accuse the HPD and the reconstructionists of tampering with the video evidence to incriminate the client. Or they will claim a hacker broke into his camera system and altered the video.

The recording does not stand on its own merit unless he, the person who supplied the evidence to the police, is willing to testify in court that the video is what he recorded and turned over to the police unaltered.

Maybe or maybe they'll accept a sworn affidavit to that effect. Unsure.

It is possible to tell forensically if photo or video has been edited. Not sure how it works, but any editing leaves a trace.

The difference is that this guy is not your common druggie with a public defender. This guy is an attorney. His law license and his entire life will be upended by this video. He will do whatever he can to get it thrown out.

Of course he will. He' s going to be disbarred if he gets a conviction for fraud which means life over. He'll be working in a fast food restaurant the week after.

Have you thought about the consequences of reporting this which has nothing to do with you or your family. You could have serious repercussions later on especially if any convictions are brought to them. They could target your home and family as it is clear where the camera's are.

Not sure where you live in the UK, ljw2k, maybe London where's there's lots of armed drug gangs?

I wouldn't hesitate to hand over video to the police of a crime affecting my neighbourhood, and as you know over here we don't have a means of defending ourselves and even if we did, we couldn't use it! If anything arose short of your lfie being in danger, the law is muddy at best.

You have to have faith in your cameras protecting you and the police responding quickly. As a last resort if someone gets in it's a kitchen knife or a bat and risk having to justify your actions as reasonable in Court if attacked. A good point here even in the UK is know how to use your environment to your advantage. Unless you live in a mansion UK stairs are narrow and a bottleneck. Defending the top of the stairs is always going to be an option because you can turn 3 attackers into 1 by bottlenecking them to one wide. Household products as well as knives may also be effective so long as your realise that everything has to be justified as reasonable and necessary to defend your life which needs to be under threat from your perspective. A bucket of cold water, not that you're likely to have one to hand is also a good deterrent. Very few people feel like fighting once cold and soaked through. That's not meant to be a legal advice and always consult a lawyer about any actions you may plan to take in defence of yourself to ascertain what may be reasonable.

However, a line has to be drawn. If everyone simply says I'm going to see nothing then chaos ensues as criminals are free to run amok.

Imagine if where you live there were some home invasions (almost unheard of in the UK) and no-one "saw" anything. What do you think would happen? It would get worse as they knew they could get away with, and they'd carry out more. Eventually it would be your turn with you in your home. Point is fail to tackle it today, suffer it tomorrow.

Just imagine that fraudster lawyers face when he sees himself on video committing fraud. Priceless! I would pay $$ to see that. He is thinking of all the driveways I could pull into, I had to pick the one with all the cameras, I am an Idiot. Evidently he could not make a living being a scumbag, and had to succumb to fraud. Great job @IReallyLikePizza2 for keeping up the pressure!

Yep really european thinking what i hear. There is a reason why US citizen are allowed to arm themselves. The criminal rate in most european countries is low and what we call criminal is like someone steal candy from a child compared to US. Problem in europe.. all these islamic invaders know that people in europe do nothing to stop them. even police in UK is not allowed to carry a gun.. its so stupid. france and uk have many problems with these islamic terrorists and everyone there is just looking and waiting. i mean.. for what are you waiting ? that they rape your daughter ? oh thats what happens in sweden already. hahaha. wish you good luck in Uk, from year to year it is getting worser.

However, a line has to be drawn. If everyone simply says I'm going to see nothing then chaos ensues as criminals are free to run amok.

but who decide what to report and what not ? stealing bag for 30cents is ok, but car insurance fraud not ? hmm ?? if someone decide to be criminal, i mean who cares? there is a line when human/animal getting hurt/murdered whatever.. but stealing? frauds? who cares ?

in some european countries its insane. there are people(mostly old) who sit the whole day in front the window and call the police when someone did something wrong.. park in wrong direction ? better call police..

In a strange turn of events, the OP was offered free pizza for life and an upcoming trip to Italy at a date TBD :p

Umma just sayin, if the trip turns out to be several years from now, and the itinerary includes a terminal stop in Sicily, then maybe forego the trip...ha

Even though the Godfather quote is stolen from English proverb, stolen from the Pastun people long ago...I'd still heed the jist. j/k

Even though its risky, its worth the risk

I accept

Speaking of one-way tickets. I realize why that main drag nearby looked so familiar. I flew in to H years ago, one way to conduct some business. Things became strained, I extended my stay, and 6 months after I was out of the country the man I did business with, and several others around the globe were arrested, prosecuted and in the case of the man I had met - he ended up being deported. Not south either. Think Eastern bloc, but when you get to Russia, hop the Caspian Sea and keep going.

Maybe it's low because we don't have so many criminals with access to guns? :winktongue:

That said, I support self defence where legal. However it's alright as a last defence but even in your jurisdiction can be dodgy as a 1st choice. Take Kyle Rittenhouse for example or Harold Fish.

Both used guns in self defence, (the 1st one allegedly) and both sat in jail, the 1st because as I understand it they are some arguments to say it wasn't self defence, and the latter because his 10mm handgun was deemed too powerful (wtf!).

As for "Islamic Invaders", over here we call them extremists, yes the UK is a soft touch for letting former enemies have asylum eg the Taliban, and some carry out terror acts.

However, you're wrong when you say our Police don't carry guns. The ordinary Policeman doesn't carry guns but we have "Area Cars" where armed Police are roaming the streets constantly day and night and can be rapidly deployed to any incident. We also have undercover armed Police stalking terrorists or people suspect of being terrorists see video below.

Our Armed Police are trained like your SWAT, not ordinary officers. They are firearms specialists and equipped not only with handguns but MP5 sub machine guns. Do you have trained SWAT teams constantly driving around your streets for a fast response? I think not. So the UK isn't quite the pushover you may think.

Video of Lee Rigby Police reponses here and if you think our Police are pushovers think again, they can be seen here pumping shots into the suspects on the ground multiple times because they suspect they had suicide vests. Miraculously, both survived:

Undercover Police shoot terrorist dead here (actual shooting not covered but shows armed police arriving on scene and armed undercover officers who did the shooting):

There is an uncensored version of both videos from ground level but they're age restricted by Youtube.

...and UK Police in action aginst a man carrying a knife in a supermarket (no shots fired):

So to say we have no armed Police or they're a pushover isn't correct.

I agree some busy bodies (karens) will report anything. But do you shoot everyone and report nothing in the USA?

Obviously not from the OP's video. I'd say 99% of your citizens report crime rather than shoot 1st and probably thank god for it considering it would probably put inccoent people in the firing line on many occassions and based on Rittenhouse and Fish may get many of your citizens arrested and imprisoned even if in some cases they may get released later.

Criminals have access to guns anywhere in the world, because they are criminals and will not listen to the law. Criminals can't buy guns here in the USA, or the UK. The only difference is that its easier for a non criminal to buy a gun in the USA

Guns are simply just a tool, removing them won't stop any criminal from committing crime. It would be like saying if we subsidize the cost of hammers we would have more carpenters in the country

Of course, all the Anti gun people focus on GUN DEATHS, and say "Gotcha, look at this! GUN CRIME is lower in the UK" Well no shit, it was always lower to begin with even when you had guns, and if you remove all the guns then there probably will be less GUN DEATHS

But, I really don't care if I'm killed with a hammer or a gun, I'm dead (Actually, I'd choose the gun)

I did call the Texas Department of Insurance Fraud line, and they said I need to give them names and addresses. I guess they are too lazy to look up a plate!

Crazy things people do, looks very clear cut to me. Did anyone get back to you about your attempt to report the fraud?

You can report suspected insurance fraud to the National Insurance Crime Bureau at 800-835-6422 or online at Report Fraud | National Insurance Crime Bureau (nicb.org)

The Texas Department of Insurance also has online fraud reporting at On-Line Fraud Industry Login Administration (naic.org)

..

Well the UK did attempt to dump all the Criminals off shore when they had colonies .. just kept those who were at top and called their place the house of lords ...

What is the definition of "Fast Response" in your mind?
We have a saying that may apply to your regular police officer's, "when seconds count, the police are minutes away".
In your case "when seconds count, my backup with guns are minutes away.

Most violent encounters are over in 55 seconds on average.

Our swat team members, are not just setting at home awaiting a call, they are out patrolling like all the other officers, but are ready at a moments notice to respond to a swat situation.
