Insurance Fraud Outside My Home

Just got a call from HPD, they wanted more details on the Blue SUV. The temp tag doesn't come back to anything and is fake, they are currently out looking for it

They also told me the insurance company is now aware and has put the claim they made on hold pending review

Imagine that LOL - didn't you see it on other vehicles that came past.

Who knows you may have uncovered an entire ring of criminal activity LOL.

If only they would take my other complaints this seriously

7 cars with the same temp tag, clearly something wrong there...

But at the same time we need more @IReallyLikePizza2 folks in society because without people like him, our society continue to erode to what we have seen in today's society...

Criminals know they can get away with a lot and so many places like California and elsewhere catering to the criminals is sickening.

The only way it stops and starts going back the other way is by doing the right thing.

Oh, I get it trust me .. my first gut response to seeing anyone trespassing, stealing, injuring another or whatever is to annihilate them. As a homicide survivor who has spent more than a decade hunting his loved one's killer, I am more then steeped in a particular kind of rage which predisposes me to taking a certain path. I embrace the actions of the OP, but that still leaves room to encourage him to seek independent advice where his safety is concerned. Don't mistake 'that' for weakness...

Have you thought about the consequences of reporting this which has nothing to do with you or your family. You could have serious repercussions later on especially if any convictions are brought to them. They could target your home and family as it is clear where the camera's are.

In that case, what are we even all doing here with all these cameras?

May as well take them all down and save the money if we are just going to ignore crime

And honestly, when its come to the point of criminals congregating outside my home as a place to smash into each other for fraud, is that not to do with my family?

I really would prefer they don't smash cars outside my home...

@IReallyLikePizza2 is going be sitting there in his underwear ready to blow their heads off, or light em up with a can of gasoline and a match. Seriously though, these petty crooks resort to insurance fraud because they cannot stomach a physical crime like robbery.

Still if it don't concern me or my family I stay well clear of getting involved.

That's kind of my point though, it does concern me. What if my hypothetical 4 year old ran into the road when they were staging yet another hit and run?

They always are.

Good luck and glad you finally got HPD to do something. Good idea on bringing it to the attention of your Rep. No one here gave that a mention.

Exactly! What is the point in having all of this if it isn't put to good use to keep criminal activity away from your home.

And nip this stuff now because word gets out in the crime scene places to stay away from. Local news station ran a story not too long ago where criminals were interviewed and they started rattling off the neighborhoods that folks know are ripe for taking and which ones have cameras and watch out.

And what if pizza junior just happen to be running past as this guy slammed the car in reverse with no disregard to surroundings as they were intending to cause damage to that car. Or they saw the kid and decided to run them over to since they were a witness.

Does Houston have a municipal LPR system? If so, then that temp plate number needs to be put into their alert system.

My guess: most of those vehicles are stolen.

Man we can hardly get roads to drive on without holes, let alone ALPR :lmao:

Agreed, but...it seems that driving infractions are not really considered breaking the law. How many times has one seen on shows like Cops or the now defunct Live PD where they just issue a ticket for driving w/o a license, unregistered car, or no insurance.
