IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV-PRO Good or nah?

Hard to test smart illumination, the street lights dont turn off until 2am, kind of annoying staying up to test it, maybe soon.

I planned to order 3449 pro, but it is not available. Only 3649 and 3849. They all use same 1/1,8" sensor so best night quality must be at 4MPix, then 6 Mpix and worst 8 Mpix, right ?
If 8 looks better than 4 at static images (without movement), it is probably only because of better post processing (faster cpu, RAM or FW ?). 4 M version has 1G RAM and 6/8 M versions have 2G of RAM.

Can somebody compare them at night (movement) ?

It seems bullet version might be better at night (4 diodes instead of 2). Normally I preffer turret vesions, but if bullet is at last 20% better at night I take bullet.
Anybody know if turret version is substantially better at night than turret ?

The Bullet has 4 Illuminators and the Turrent only 2. Did you want to order them on Alibaba?

Yes, from Alibaba. But most sellers are not interested in ordering 6-7 pcs I need. Here in EU, they cost 250+ EUR.

I have installed like 20-30 turret cameras, but not one bullet (people here prefer more discrete turrets) . You think bullet version is substantially better ?

This install will be at small local factory - most in exterior and only one in office building.
1. Entrace - gate and small building 2x bullet or turret (they preffer more turrets under the roof)
2. Sidewalk and area of 2 buildings and one door/entrance - 2x turret (also installed under the roof)
3. More open area / sidewalks - one camera to cover 90-100 degrees up to 30-50 m. (on bulding wall or mast, I preffer turret)
4. Area between 2 nearby buildings - up to 30m. (on bulding wall or mast, I preffer turret)

At night it is pretty dark area so IR is neccessary. I tested there 2 days ago my 4Mpix 2449-pro and even at 9:30 PM the color picture was relatively good (LEDs were off, but Moon was nice and shiny,,,, today is full moon ).

With the dealers on Alibaba where I buy, I can only take 1 camera. Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything about this as I only have the Turrents. If you need 8mp I still have 2-3 new ones.

Now I have read you own 8 and 4 M version. Did you test image quality/ghosting during some movement at night ? In color and in IR mode ?

They also only have the 8mp in stock. The 4mp must always be ordered. Unfortunately not yet installed outside. But I would rather choose the 8mp version.
 
Of course it will matter greatly, as with ALL cameras, how much ambient light you have. Or in the case of these Pro models how well they put out the light.

With enough light, the 8MP should do fine.

In a dark area with just the LED's and no ambient light, I'll bet on the 4MP pro ALL day long.

They both use the same sensor and (or the SOC) it's noisier than the one used in the 5442 to begin with so i think the 8MP would just amplify this
I don't think I've seen test video from the 8MP and I know I havent seen a comparison

Based on this thread about the lower end 2449-PRO and the better 3449-PRO, many of us wanted to see how it would perform in our situations instead of ideal situations in a marketing video.

As many of us are aware, Dahua decided to keep the same model numbers of some of their most popular models like the 5442-Z12E and the 5442 series cameras, but they have been updated with a newer GUI and specs that on paper show better than the previous version as was discussed in this thread even though they have the same size sensor as the previous generation.

I previously did a mini-review of the new 5241-Z12E here, as well as the 5442-Z4E comparison between the old Z4E and the new Z4E.

Many of the specs remained the same. Similar to the 5442 series with the new...
