IPC-HDW5231R-ZE Rhea V2.800.0000016.0.R.200430 Latest new firmware

I didn't understand it either, and then it just hit me, but it hit me very hard with the cams aborting every few minutes and multiple reboots.
I amusing Blue Iris, so yes it could be that, it could be the camera model I am using, but whatever I think enough have been hit hard with this it should be withdrawn.
My cams are isolated, so I will happily just stick on v13 with the rest on v15.

I agree with you in that it should be pulled until at least there is more info on the matter. This is strange. Anyhow I downgraded to 15 on all my cams due to the IVS bug.

Anybody has a previous version firmware? The 13, is removed from Andy's thread.
It seems like, Dahua removed the firmware tabs from their site.
Yes I have 13 and 15. Let me zip them up together and private message you a drop box link.

All of my 6 5231-ze cams are running this firmware with IVS enabled on 3 of them and I’ve had no issues.

My normal procedure is to backup the cam config, flash the cam, then reset it to defaults, then restore the backed up config.

Yes, didn't help in this case. Other have reported they couldn't even restore the backed up config.

Happened to see this thread. I’ve always thought that if there’s significant change to the firmware, it‘s reasonable to believe that putting the old config back will not work properly for all parameters?

Anyway, I reverted to v13 months ago and sticking with it.

I've been watching this thread, too. I only have one 5231R-ZE but it's been on "16" since Andy listed it and it has yet to reboot, hang or mess up in any way.

I updated IPC-HDW5231R-Z and IPC-HDW5431R-Z to V2.800.0000016.0.R and every time the cams
get unplugged and plugged in again they lose the Sub Stream settings.

Does somebody have v15 for me?

Regarding the reboot problem...are you using SD cards? Check how full they are. I had a problem after upgrading firmware where they did random reboots. After looking into various 'solutions', I reformatted the SD cards in all three and have yet to have a reboot in three days.

Exactly the same thing here.
2x IPC-HDW5431R-ZE with V2.800.0000016.0.R, Build Date: 2020-06-05

after reboot
  • video \ sub stream 01 disabled -> enabled
  • video \ sub stream 02 enabled -> disabled (including settings within are reset to defaults)
  • audio \ sub stream 01 disabled -> enabled
  • audio \ sub stream 02 enabled -> disabled

I'm going to try 13 from the website as my cameras can't talk out anyway.

incidently, dahua website lists NP and PN. I understand that all dahua f/w supports both pal and ntsc. but i don't understand why on the main website they need to list two images if they are both the same and both pal and ntsc.

i am having issues with v16 please can someone direct me to a more reliable version
I am unable to get nvr to accept it

I downloaded the firmware update for the 5231. It looked like it finished fine but I’m unable to connected to the camera. It says site can’t be reached. The assigned IP refused to connect. I thought maybe it reset and tried to search it as new but that didn’t work either. Any ideas how to fix it?

The hard reset (reset button) needs to be done with power supplied to the cam. Was it plugged into a POE switch? Did the green light come on, the one in the photo below?

I’ve always been terrified to do any firmware updates on cameras. I’ve had my 5231’s for about 2 years and have never updated because I don’t want to fix something that’s not broken and potentially cause it to break or not function perfectly as it has for the last 2 years.

Is this ok? They are completely isolated from the internet. I’m sure I’m missing out on some updated features but, once again, they work perfectly for me as is.

Absolutely that is perfect. Only update if it is known to fix an issue you are having! Most of mine have never been updated for that very reason.

I’m glad I’m not the only one! Thank you for your reassurance.
