IPC-HDW5231R-ZE Rhea V2.800.0000016.0.R.200430 Latest new firmware

how did you determine the cams were trying to communicate outbound?
He showed you in his two posts.

In the first case it would appear he noticed it in the logs for his Internet border router. In the second case he ran a network diagnostic tool called Wireshark.

I did update the HDW5231R-Z from "V2.800.0000010.0.R Build Date: 2019-08-07" to this one.

Now the stream does not work anymore that was working before with:
Code:
rtsp:/user:password@10.110.220.41:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=2

Also in Firefox if i now go to "Settings" (CAM admin area) and then back to "Live" it loads forever and no video is showing.

People are recommending resetting the CAMs to default and do all the custom settings again.
Really? Do you take screenshots of the "one million" settings of all your CAMs before that?

After the upgrade stream 2 is disabled but stream 1 is enabled so check in the cam gui.

Edit: To say that this what happened to all my cams when I upgraded.

Thanks that was what happened. I don't know how i did oversee that i use stream 2 and it was not longer activated.

which one Is “this” one?
The one this thread is dedicated to (V2.800.0000016.0.R.200605)

So, @EMPIRETECANDY, do you have any insight as to why, after installing
DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.800.0000015.0.R.200430, cameras are all-of-a-sudden trying to contact a server in Alibaba network space?

@pilotsnipes, have you tried installing DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.800.0000016.0.R.200605.bin to see if the problem goes away?

I already asked him and he ignored my question. Didn't even acknowledge.
I'm not updating until we have the answer.

I asked dahua engineer,

Aliyun is alibaba's cloud server, like amazon cloud. 50% Chinese big company's app server use aliyun, they have database in USA, so the data will be sent to US center.

By the way, the new 4.0 version cams all use local Amazon Server.

After upgrading to 2.800.0000015.0.R, Live view only works with Microsoft Edge.
After upgrading to 2.800.0000016.0.R, 802.1x/PEAP stops working.

After upgrading to 2.800.0000015.0.R, Live view only works with Microsoft Edge.
So what was wrong with that? Why upgrade firmware after this install?

Just flash new FW IPC-HDW5231R-ZE Rhea V2.800.0000016.0.R.200605 for IPC-HFW5231E-ZE
I see more noisy picture at night after upgrade (i dont change anything)
1) Is i needed reset to factory defaults few times ?
2) Is it correct to import camera settings from previous FW (if hard reset needed before) ?
3) Whats new in FW ?

I’ve not noticed this. I just checked clips from 2 months ago with some recorded last night and they look the same to me.

Scratch that, just realised I updated back in May so don’t have any clips from before.

thanks you work fine on 2 IPC-HDBW5831R-ZE !
I really don't understand why it's so difficult to find this firmware!

EDIT : the 2 cameras restarted 4 times in 7min after the upgrading don't be afraid like me :p

Hi Andy we upgraded some IPC-HFW5831E-ZE Cameras with this 2.800.0000016.0.R – 2020-06-05 Firmware and since then they all keep rebooting themselves every 24 to 48 hours – why do the cameras keep automatically rebooting themselves since the upgrade?

AND

How do we stop the auto rebooting?

Before the firmware upgrade the cameras used to run non-stop for a year without a single reboot happening or being needed.

We checked but System > Auto Maintain > Auto Reboot is NOT enabled – sadly it is not that simple.

Noticed some new functions in this firmware: -

Setting > Video > Stream Smooth – sounds useful is there any more information?

Network > Auto Register – register automatically to what network?

System > Safety > System service – seems new or significantly expanded

System > Safety > Firewall – seems new

System > Safety > HTTPS - there seems to be a lot more on HTTPS tab as well

Auto Maintain > Auto Delete Old Files – very intriguing – does it mean user files? Images and Video? Old configuration files? Or something more like TRIM/Garbage collection on an SSD – meaning it runs TRIM on the camera SD card OR the cameras internal ROM or perhaps RAM memory?

Version > Security Baseline now reads 2.0 – instead of 1.something

All seems like progress – but how to stop the rebooting?

Regards.
