All of this is academic if you are not showing a person moving in the frame. No one cares about the contrast of the dirt. The real test is how well a moving person can be identified, day or night.

Courting red foxes are goofy
These two have been courting for a while, and with mating season upon them they have ratcheted up the silliness. They do this sort of thing all through the night. The scene is lit with a single dusk to dawn light bulb, from a portable utility fixture which seems to obliterate the blue lighting...

Btw. That’s with the warm light off. No lights were on outside. It’s simply an amazing night cam.
That is what happens when one quits chasing MP and chases sensor size LOL.
You now finally have a 4K camera on the proper size sensor instead of those kiddie 4K cams on 1/2.5" sensors or worse

TO be fair the 5842 is pretty good at night and has a decent sensor compared to most cams
There has a bad news, the Color4K-X price is increasing, maybe the next batch price will be higher.
Absolutely, I have both cameras and they are incredible.
But the 5842 is on a larger 1/1.8" sensor, unlike those piece of crap IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV cams you have that are 8MP on the 1/2.8" sensor
(Sorry just had to tease you a bit from our chats on other threads about the poor performance of those stinkers LOL)

After seeing that 4K/X, I bet you never buy another 4K on a smaller sensor LOL.

@runraid I got your DM and will ping you back when I can so we can set some time to dial in your cam optimally. Then will be able to determine whether it’s a great fit in current FOV or what more is needed etc.
Definitely think we’ll see a fixed turret 4K-X this year (assuming chip shortages don’t get worse) but vari will still be a year to 1.5 years out due to delays with shortages and a good pic of sensor to optic etc IMO.While we are asking, how about a varifocal and a turret verson
