IPC-T5442T-ZE IPC-T5442TM-AS IPC-T5842T-ZE SMD 3.0 Smart IR Latest New Firmware From EmpireTech

Sorry, second try went private. So far it looks like no-go

I'm going to stop trying for now. Later will pull the camera and try direct

Did you log back in to the camera after a factory default to clear the two start up messages? Don’t remember if I did that when I updated my 5231’s. Things just seem to work better for me in a private browsing session on whatever browser I’m using with my mix of Lorex and Andy cams with a newer Andy 5232 NVR

I have success! Put the file on USB, and inserted it into the DVR. Using the DVR menu, applied FW to the camera, and it worked.

Before I was trying to install it through the DVR-Network (remote)

Hello, I am new to the forums. I just received my first
IPC-T5442TM-AS
from Andy.
Since its coming out of the box I would like to make sure it is on the current/latest stable release firmware.
My issue is locating where to download the files from and where is a list of revisions?

I am sure the info is available but due to my being new and pecking through the many pages I am the issue. I have tried googling but that just led me to this thread of 27 pages. The first post is where I would have expected such info but it looks to be not the case.

Thank you
Mike

20220817 Smart IR fw is ready, welcome to ask for testing.
Andy, I'm currently running V2.840.15OG008.0.R, Build Date: 2022-02-18. I see this new version offers Smart IR, what others changes are in the release notes? I'd be willing to help test this version for you.

Hey guys,

The Smart IR firmware with SMD 3.0 V2.8 2022 Aug Version has been released. The update is mainly for Smart IR, New Security Baseline function, highly recommend to update, esp the 4K models.
Thanks for your updating.

Andy

So is everyone still Resetting to Factory Default after upgrade?

From Cliff Notes:

Dahua Firmware Updates
Before installing firmware, it is suggested to thoroughly research any potential compatibility problems or issues. Dahua started signing their firmware in 2017 (varies by model), which prevents installation of older, non-signed versions. If you are unable to install older firmware, or inadvertently brick your camera while upgrading, see the Dahua Camera Firmware Rollback / Brick Recovery section.

Before applying a firmware update, save the camera configuration so it can be reloaded later. After applying a firmware update, you must factory default (reset) the camera in the Web UI (Setup > System > Default). This post-firmware upgrade default process has fixed various issues; you have been warned.

Since the camera will revert to the default settings (including the network configuration), reconnecting to the camera may be problematic. The default fixed IP address for Dahua cameras is 192.168.1.108, which may cause the following issues: IP conflicts if this address has already been assigned by the router, or an inability to reach the camera if you have a subnet that is not 192.168.1.X. Using the Dahua ConfigTool should mitigate either of the above scenarios. See the section below on Dahua Camera Viewing / Management Options - Desktop Computer. Once you have reset the camera network configuration (Setup > Network > TCP/IP), reload the saved camera configuration.

Was there a change from the beta, General_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.840.15OG00D.0.R.220817.bin?
