IPC-T5442T-ZE IPC-T5442TM-AS IPC-T5842T-ZE SMD 3.0 Smart IR Latest New Firmware From EmpireTech

Thanks to @Wildcat_1 fast support, also can check @looney2ns report about the "Stutter or Jerky" video

@EMPIRETECANDY I did look into the 'stuttering video' and tested on 7 cameras and I'm not currently seeing this issue. For reference, I'm using Samsung Pro Endurance cards (that I highly recommend) and have bitrates for test set to video at 15k, 30fps and audio to AAC and 16k. h264H for codec (always recommend this over h265 for most applications). I have these set to record locally (SMD + IVS) and also to a Dahua NVR in this test but again am not seeing this issue on either instance (local to SD or NVR) of the file.

This doesn't mean there isn't an issue but it may point to it occurring elsewhere OR that in a combination (specific platform being used like BI + certain SD cards + perfect storm of rule breaches) this is seen or exacerbated. For those experiencing any stutter but also using NVR platforms such as BI etc maybe remove BI from the mix for test purposes only and see how the camera acts direct to SD. If still stuttering attempt SD card switch and re-test. If however its only seen when connected to a platform then that could point to potentially parallel offload to on-cam SD card + platform showing a bottleneck. Just some things to try there.

I'll continue to test across these cams myself but again, no issue seen here on this specific problem yet.

If still stuttering

i dont think there was any stuttering at all.

the 2D NR slider is set to 50 by default. we all have no idea about settings of "2D NR" hard coded by dahua in earlier firmware versions.. so may there is now much more 2DNR than before (with default settings)...

its just what i have in #83

i asked it..

Same as you have shown

so what are your settings of 2D NR wildcat , and what happens on movement further away (digital zoomed) ? you see no difference with h264H ?

have to reset to factory.. maybe there is the problem of this ... :embarrassed:

@MikeLud1 still around here ? are you using h264H?

but you had these strange artefacts on moving with higher NR settings after updating the firmware compared to old firmware?

maybe i missed something and got lost
The artefacts I had was at night with movement when running the camera in color, with the added adjustment of 2D NR I was able to remove the artefacts by turning it down. Below are my night color settings.

I'm a little confused here. My cam (PC-T5442TM-ASE) arrived with this firmware version:

System VersionV2.820.0000000.0.R, Build Date: 2020-11-14
WEB VersionV3.2.1.980255
ONVIF Version20.06(V2.9.0.970440)
S/N
Algorithm Version1.0.3
Security Baseline VersionV2.1

Am I correct this is standard Dahua firmware and not the SmartIR one? Can (and should?) the firmware mentioned in this thread be installed on the ASE as well?

just use this one no problem, working great! It's a IPC-T5442TM-AS too, the best one we have now for fixed cam.

I am using h264h also I am using AI Codec with no stuttering, below are my day settings

I'm using H.265 as the main stream encode mode but for sub stream, i'm using H.264.

Just wondering, since I'm using H.265 for main encode mode, what would be the best encoding strategy? general or AI codec? I assume AI codec is the latest and best especially for AI stuff like IVS etc? sorry for the nuisance. if I could also grab @Wildcat_1 opinion on this, that would be great haha. Thanks

You should match the coding for main and substream or you may run into issues, especially with Blue Iris or an NVR.

I tested the AI codec with Blue Iris and it ran fine. That is the latest.

Ah I see. I can't find where I found the info of having main and substream different is better than matching but I remember someone saying that having substream set to h.264 and main to h.265 is better for stability with live viewing..?

me, my blueiris box has enough horrsepower, and I hated the degraded video quality of hte substreams that I'm running pure mainstream on all 7 cams.

hey, this latest firmware, the V2.820.15OG001.0.R, build date: 2021-05-25 one, I installed it on my IPC-T5442T-ZE and it came right back up with all its existing settings without me doing a reset. I was running V2.800.15OG004.0.R, Build Date: 2020-10-19 before.

its too bad there's not some way to save the settings in a version neutral format, like a json or xml file and be able to import them into a newer release

so what does all those things in the version mean? V2.820 is the actual version? So, whats 15OG001.0.R vs 15OG004.0.R ?
