I worked with a Hindu up in NY who wore a turban. He said he didn't have to but like to. He also like to change up the colors like you'd change the color of your tie.
I too have worked with them they told me that many Sikhs identify as Hindus so that they don't get mistaken for a Taliban.
The guy also told me that most Sikhs come to North America on shady made up reasons to get asylum claiming religious persecution by Hindus, which he said is the only way they can get inside the US borders, since Sikhs according to him mostly lack the advanced degrees that H1B workers come in with.
He also said that you can only see Sikhs working in a store or driving a Semi and usually they only accept cash because they do not have a social security number as they are either illegal or awaiting their asylum claim.
Dang, I say one word, Hinduism and I come back to a whole page of post/messages, LOL
