Latest New 20190111 Firmware for DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea

Andy hasn't pulled it. It is still available in Andy's topic OP...

20180523 Firmware for DH_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea

Reviewing some of my home cameras, I see I installed "General_IPC-HX5X3X-Rhea_Internal_PN_Stream3_V2.640.0000002.0.R.180523.bin" on several of my cameras seven (7) months ago, and -- as I have noticed any abhorrent behavior on any of these cameras -- I have to conclude that this firmware appears to run fine on the following cameras...
  • IPC-HDBW4231F-AS
  • IPC-HDW5231R-Z
  • IPC-HDW4231EMP-ASE
  • IPC-HDW4231EM-AS

I bought three IPC-HDBW4231FP-AS cameras from Andy recently, all having different firmware version numbers. I got one in December that had the V2.622.0000000.23.R (2018-03-30 build date) firmware, and two that I received Wednesday. One of those has a V2.622.0000000.31.R (2018-08-13 build date) firmware and the other has V2.800.0000000.0.R (2018-12-26 build date) firmware. Both of the V2.622's work just fine. I have not tried to compare the firmware options so I do not know what was different.

But the V2.800 firmware has options that when selected, do not seem to do anything. If I get the chance and anyone is interested, I will try and investigate that further.

Funny thing is the two I got on Wednesday, the serial numbers only differ by the last two digits, 23 vs. 30 and the 23 is the one with the V2.800 firmware.

Can anyone enlighten me with the Dahua firmware numbering system? Is the part 800 vs. 622 significant? What does that mean?

Thanks.
Bob

I've upgraded but not liking this firmware. I can no use a valid "link to web" login from smartpss and the camera generally feels sluggish.

I cannot roll back to 20180523 anymore. Why have they suddenly prevented this ability to roll back firmware versions.
Is there no other way to roll back to previous versions?

I'd like to know too. It would be nice to think the next firmware release allows you to roll back firmware version once again also.
I'm not keen on having to try the unbrick-recovery option unless I really have to.

Lesson learned, stop updating every time a new firmware is released.

Fair point, but generally you assume a firmware upgrade to be just that...."an upgrade", so it should be worth doing and you don't expect problems you never had before.
I certainly would not have done it had I known there was no roll back/downgrade option any more. :(

Poor assumption. Its an update not an "upgrade". This is true for every device and every update. Never do it unless its been verified good by others.

If its not broken, don't fix it.

I received two cams recently, one 5231 turret and one 2231 turret. The 2231 has the v2.800 firmware and the 5231 has v2.622.

The 2231 / v2.800 seems to work fine for what I've done but admittedly I've not played with a bunch of the settings right in the camera. I've basically only changed/set what is necessary to match my network and connect to BI computer.

I'll throw in a "me too" for V2.800.0000002.0.R. I've got a 5831 I just received that shipped with the January firmware and it's working wonderfully for me in these short two weeks I've had it connected. Has there been any recent news about the "V2.800.0000002.0.R, Build Date: 2019-01-11" firmware release? I haven't seen anything lately.
