Hello,

I am still playing around with my two EmpireTech IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 (Dahua IPC-HDW5442T-ZE), Frigate, Blue Iris, some apps and a SMB share to find the best set-up for me. A couple times I have noticed that the zoom of the camera was changed. I have not touched any PTZ control by intention. I assume it happened when reviewing recordings and navigating in any program.

Is there any way how to lock the zoom function on camera level or limit the rights?
Alternativ is there a way to automatically return to a peset triggered by something?

Tobias

It is easy for people in BI to accidently change the zoom. The best thing is to disable the PTZ controls in BI for that camera.

It's found under BI's "Camera Settings" => "PTZ/Control" for that particualr camera, un-tick "P/T/Z Control" then click on "OK".

Thank you. In case of Blue Iris was the cause, it now will be solved.
Im am not sure if maybe any other program or app was causing it. Therefore I was asking for a way to restrict on camera level.

You could probably make a user account with no permission to zoom on the camera and use that for device credentials.

This idea is good. I got it by myself. :)
But as you can see in post #3, I cannot identify the proper rights for "zoom".

It will be some trial and error LOL as zoom could fall under several of those.

I would try an account with Camera, Event, Storage and see what that gets you.
