why would you buy good cameras then shoot yourself in the foot with a cheap nvr...What is the cheapest NVR suitable for a 2 Dahua Starlight system.
UK Based.
thank you
When the camera's are connected to this nvr, are they still accessible through my lan?
They will be accessible. The NVR spec'd above does not have internal POE, so in addition, you would need a separate POE switch. Your Cams and NVR connect to the POE switch, and that in turn is connected to your LAN. Using an NVR with internal POE ports will not easily allow access via your LAN. You would need to connect a computer to one of the internal POE ports, to get access to the Cams. One of the big benefits of using an external POE switch, is you only need to run camera cabling to the switch, not to where the NVR is located. You can put the switch in an attic/basement and the NVR anywhere you want.
Great choice. You will not be disappointed.Thanx, good point. Much easier to connect the nvr to my screen in the living room.
